I was pulling for Taylor, but as I have said before, in the second half of the fight you had one fighter landing the 'clean' punches and the other landing the 'effective' punches. Taylor has always gotten 'style' points but I can see someone scoring the more damaging blows. Some people had him in a shutout over Pavlik in the first fight even though Pavlik was breaking him down.

In the end though, props to Froch.

Taylor always wins the first half of ALL his fights.

    Win or lose.

Sadly for him you dont automatically win a fight if you are up at half time.
Thats logic some people cant get their head around.

I had Taylor winning rounds but that means nothing, he didn't win the fight and that's what matters. He could have won every single round it still doesn't matter, you need to win rounds and keep it up till the 12th, he couldn't do that because Froch took advantage of the opening and ended it.

Taylor was winning rounds against Pavlik too in the first fight, it means nothing really, in the end Pavlik won by KO.

It's not just winning rounds, got to win rounds all the way to the end, Froch was able to keep it up till the end and Taylor couldn't, simple and clear as that.

I had 7-3-1 to taylor going into the last round, so if Taylor had lasted to the bell i'd have had it 115-113 to taylor - the way people go on about it being an ass whooping until Froch managed the KO is hilarious, it was a close fight.

I understand the point of this. Plenty of people have made out like Froch's skills had nothing on Taylor's, which wasn't so. Plus, I definitely agree that froch was overwhelmed by the occasion for several rounds - as I've stated many times elsewhere (so apols for repeating myself), it was just like the ams all over again when nerves consistently got to him.

Froch's a world class fighter who beat another world class fighter, and that remains the most important thing.

I have been banging on about this point for some time now. Allot people forgot that the aim of the game is to KO the opponent so if you down on the score cards and still KO/TKO your opponent thats all that matters.

Scorecards are just a reasonable way to decide a winner after reasonable amount of time slugging out in the ring.

If Taylor was able to survive those last few seconds with those knockdowns included, the decision would of went to Taylor and it wouldnt be considered a robbery.

He could not survive because the beating was to severe. Froch was landing bombs at will and toying with Taylor in the 12th. It was a clear and indisputable KO victory for Froch.

It's a fight that you have to watch several times to really appreciate. Despite how it looks, froch has some real subtleties to his style. if there was a rematch, taylor would get mullered.
