All this tells us is that most fans in the states don't realise the sport exists outside of their own country. Tell us something we don't know! As opposed to those over here who appreciate good boxers no matter where they're from! As for Taylor with his "he needed to come over here to make a name for himself", it's a good job Froch has the warrior mentality and doesn't demand every fight at home on his terms otherwise this fight would have never happened! It's precisely this attitude that stops me respecting Taylor as a genuine fighter, however gifted he may be.

great non-response. again if there's a lot of pro sports in the uk it shouldn't be that hard for you to prove my ignorance. :hi::hi: at any rate, if there are a lot, you guys sure do a great job of keeping them secret and hidden from the outside world.

The main winter sports are football and the two rugby codes (union and league), the main summer ones cricket and tennis. Boxing is a niche market, though when a Hatton/Calzaghe/Khan fight is on it is usually promoted into the mainstream. But we're happy with those sports. We don't feel the need to invent about a dozen sports that nobody else plays just so one of our teams can be "world" champions at them!

Oh no, wavy smilies, that's me told.

The only people I would need to prove your ignorance to are people equally as ignorant as yourself. And what would be the point of that?

Anyone with the slightest clue already knows you're a spaz, I don't need to tell them anything.

I see Froch is 11/10 against to win this. If I had a million I would put it all on him winning. I've never been more convinced of someone winning a fight.

Pascal has a thicker coat than Taylor and is bigger at the weight. Taylor won't have the same robustness.

I doubt it myself, Froch will need to keep Taylor under real pressure the whole way through, he can't just fight in spurts and hope to hit a jackpot punch. Taylor is slick enough to outbox him as well and especially with him refusing to step outside the States where you can guarantee Froch will need a knockout to win.

Pascal might be bigger but Taylor does everything better.

oh oh, i'm a 'spaz.' that's crippling. still a lot of non responses.

i know about rugby, cricket, and tennis but do not know the extent of how they're professionally organized (except tennis) nor they're level of attrraction as professional sports in the UK. And I don't know how someone outside of the UK would know that. I would say that UK boxers like hatton, froch, and others seem to be more popular sports figures in the UK than some of the US "famous" boxers (excpet for DLH) are here in the US. I would thus surmise that boxing is more important there than it is here at the moment and I think that would be due to the popularity of other US sports such as american football, baseball, basketball, even MMA and others.

Taylor has quick hands but he always has to set his feet before punching. His footwork overall is mediocre and he's not that hard to manouvere into a vulnerable position.

This all depends on Froch's power though. If his power is not as great as it's alleged to be, alot people including myself may look a bit stupid. Even then though, I think Froch will bar brawl his way through the last six rounds and be able to pick up the verdict.

There's no way Taylor will keep Froch at bay for more than a few rounds. Apart from that equilibrium shot that rocked Pavlik, he hasn't shown much power for a while now.

Well, that is as good a way as choosing as any I guess. I tried to listen once, but I could only take about half an hour of that (whatever you want to call it).

either way he doesn't have the speed for his style...pascal wasn't landing cleanly cause he was throwing hella sloppy, but still, he did land a few bombs that made froch think twice....now, taylor aint sloppy at all, he's actually really patient and likes to pick his shots.....all i know is this, if jermain brings his jab, it's gonna be an ugly night for froch

17 weight divisions, four "major" belts and a slew of "minor" belts. Holding a belt doesn't mean much some times.

Football is clearly the #1 sport over here and totally dominates. Rugby league and union both have around 20-30 pro teams I think, with decent crowds. Cricket is popular to an extent, but mainly the one day game, people only go to test matches to get pissed all day. Tennis is similar to how it is in the States. You do get the odd few who follow some of the U.S. sports which have made it over here like ice hockey and basketball. A few follow F1 as well. Boxing is a funny sport in that it is probably less popular than most of these unless one of a set few are fighting (recently this has included Eubank, Benn, Hamed, Lewis, Hatton, Calzaghe, Khan to an extent) and then everybody watches it! Decent world class operators like Woods, Thompson, Witter, Eastman, Rob Reid etc... nobody really cared about.
