Froch is going to have to show me a lot more than he did against Pascal to convince me. I think Ozzel is bringing Taylor back to the disciplined approach he probably learned under Burns.

bottom line is froch winning - any way - is going to put him into a bigger playing field than he ever would have reached 'talking' about calazaghe but staying in britain.

i believe taylor wins this handily but froch really has a whole lot to gain from this - IF he's willing to make the jump to the states should he pull an upset.

You have no idea what you're on about.

Taylor's team offered Froch a deal in December; Froch accepted essentially the same terms in February. In waiting two months, when it didn't look like the fight would happen, Taylor started looking for other opponents.

Also, Taylor did 10,000+ at the gate last time he fought in Little Rock. Froch did 7,000 in Nottingham against Pascal.

I tend to doubt that being that 9 of 10 European posters here have said that he has ducked every fighter from Europe at some point in the past 5 years:yep

There are not many boxer than are well know around the world so I dont see the significance in Taylor's comments. Take any women of the street and ask her to name any boxer and she will probably say Mike Tyson of Ali because these guys actually transcended their sport.

Ditto here really, except boxing now has a serious rival in the shape of MMA. As stated, I think will always be a niche sport except for where the household names are fighting and then suddenly everyone wants a piece of it!

No, I'm blaming Taylor for his "I'll never fight anyone even if it's a world title fight or eliminator unless it's totally on my terms" attitude. He avoided Howard Eastman before anyone really knew who he was because he would have had to get his passport out and fought the past-it Joppy instead. He wouldn have fought somebody like Allan Green instead of Froch had Froch insisted on purse bids for the fight. Doesn't sit well with me, it's simply not what a genuine warrior does.

Bias? Me? Absolutely not. Just putting the comments which I originally replied to into perspective. I believe all fighters should be judged on merit and by the same standards no matter where they're from. Some people on this board quite obviously don't!

He could easily have not done so if he wanted. All he had to do was insist on purse bids and the associated 70-30 champion's split. His side would probably have won, as Eastman's did, and staged the fight in the UK. Taylor would never have agreed to that (looks too much like adversity), so he would probably have ended up fighting Green or Miranda in another "who cares" bout.
