Taylor is a very dangerous fight for Ward

All Ward has to do here is fight patiently, establish his jab early, and keep an eye on Taylor's right hand. It's going to be another punishing loss for Jermaine, unless Ward takes his foot off of the gas a little late.

To be gun shy against a monster puncher like AA doesn't mean that he'll be gun shy against Ward as well.

Even in his currently shot to **** status I think Jermain will be willing to fight fire with fire. I'm looking forward to seeing JT plant an elbow across Ward's face when the religious hypocrite comes in low to set up his patented head butt.

JT must be careful, god will punish him with plagues...
But it would be nice to see some elbow action

Opinions of Jermain Taylor run from the absurdly high to the ridiculously low. One think I think most would agree on is that you do not **** around with JT. He is not the least bit afraid to use elbows, head butts, or low blows when you get him in the trenches.

Well i honestly see problems for Ward in this fight.... Whether JT won the Hopkins and Winky fights or not... he was always very competetive with Defensive minded fighters.. Ward is one, he has to protect his shaky chin...
Also JT is very experienced on this level... fought 10(????) champs in a row, he will know how to adapt to Ward's style.. I see him on the better end of the headclashes which will automatically occur regarding Ward's style...

So what is it, his style or his shape'? 'Cause it doesn't matter in which shape he shows up, his style s*cks.
    Poor Taylor is done.

Problem with Taylor is that he no longer has the engine to last the distance. Ward isn't a bad match up for Taylor, since Ward does not carry that KO power, to finish Taylor in the final rounds. But Ward is in much better shape/form.
Still, the fight is not clear cut in Ward's favour. It will be interesting to see how Ward addapts.

The only way u cheer for taylor to continue, is if u don't give a damn about his safety, bute should have been in this tournament.I hate to see another brother get thrown into the wolves time after time, first pavlik left him for dead, then froch did a berlin and took his breath away, and abraham put him in a coma.

i agree. ward isn't the biggest puncher, so it might prolong the beating JT might receive. on the other hand, Jt might get motivated to fight with ward knowing he isn't a big puncher. i think JT never learned how to pace himself, but he used to be as explosive as anyone, moreso than ward. styles make fights. Jt i think might actually hit harder than ward, but i think ward might outbox him in the later rounds. depends what version of jt we get

The thing that bothers me most about JT at this point is that he looked just awful against Abraham. Taylor once had all the tools to beat AA, but he simply did not use them.

JT tapped a lot with his jab, but that stiff, accurate, snap-your-head-back jab never showed up.

Taylor use to have a blistering left hook, but that was almost completely absent.

JT's lead right used to be a thing of beauty, and Abraham is wide open to the lead right cross. Taylor never threw it.

Jermain used to be one hell of a counter-puncher, and he was definitely faster than Abraham. His counter punching against Abraham was practically non-existant.

Abraham was clearly muscle weary and low on gas from the 8th round on. He repeatedly backed up with his hands down. Taylor just stood there doing nothing.

All in all Jermain did about as well against AA as LuJaun Simon did.

I think JT is all done.

    Could be.

He certainly has a better chance than fighting another puncher.

Could resemble a boxing match? Ward might be too fast??

Seems his punches did nothing to AA??

I wouldnt want to fight that guy he seems like he can walk through a concrete wall.

The closest thing we have to Taylor facing someone with the skill set as Ward is his fight with the much small slower no punching Spinks and many felt like Taylor lost that fight. I think that many of the fans of the European three would love nothing more then to see Taylor upend Ward, because i truthly believe that after seeing how he dominated Kessler they now know deep down that its going to take a great great effort on the part of one of the two European sluggers to beat Ward.

Taylor will get mauled, outboxed and likely stopped in his fight with Ward, and that is going on fights with smaller lighter punching jr middleweights that many felt beat Taylor in Spinks and Wright:good

The fight that I think Ward has the best chance of losing is Dirrell.
