No way some one who was giving Hopkins and Wright all they could handle at age 33 is struggling with a boxer like that. Taylor is brain damaged, his brain was bleeding. You don't understand brain damage, when I say he is brain damaged I don't mean he is a ******.
I am a doctor and based on his pre and post fight interviews, he does appear punch drunk. For those on this thread that say he does not have brain damage, I would kindly remind you that a subarachnoid hematoma is and has always been considered brain damage.
Taylor aint the same, which is a shame as he had such a bright start to his career. A few more fights and he should hang them up. He shouldn't mess with the big hitters at 160 because he will get laid out!
Thanks for the info doc. He didn't seem to have any trouble with his speech to me, but then again I ain't no expert.
This is another case of boxers being complete ******s. Why on earth is he fighting at 160..? If you asked Usain Bolt to drop 10 pounds in body weight, or revert back to a body weight he was in 2006..? He would be weak as ****. Jermaine Taylor is a grown man, and your body matures. He cannot make 160, and be physical strong anymore...? Why did'nt Bernard Hopkins stay at 160 until he was well into his 40's..? Because he is not a complete ******. Boxers and people who advice boxers are some of the most ******ed backwards people in the whole of sports. Jermaine Taylor should of stayed at 168, nothing wrong with him there.
To the "Doctor" in the thread, no disrespect but far better and more credentialed doctors disagree with your assessment.
Let's say they give Taylor a reflex test. Even if he does better than 60% of the coach potatoes in the US it doesn't mean he is fit for boxing, especially at the top level. Let's be honest here. Can you say after last nights performance JT is ready to step up? He needs at least a few more fights at this level to see if he gets his timing and reflexes back and I doubt that is something he is willing to do at this point.
I was unaware at the time of making the comment that his brain had suffered bleeding against AA, so yes actually i do understand what brain damage is and yes i do understand that you were not calling him a ******. The problem for Taylor (as well as the brain damage) is he isnt getting any younger, 2 years out of boxing and moving back down in weight is also not going to help his durability or his chances of being succssful on a comeback.:good
Third fight with Pavlik perhaps? Seems pretty pointless but there is a market for it and it would be a solid payday for sure.
