You mean he got caught with like 30 punches in the 12th. You need to recheck the definition of getting "caught".:deal

Taylor's not done ... he's not an amazing talent and he still has room to grow ... go back to the drawing board and give him about 3 more fights and he'll be back.

    I support Taylor 100%.
But his slurred speech & fatigue late in fights is a concern.
I say unless he lands a championship fight like a Froch rematch/Kessler or a Bute
(As a marquee opponent) Jermaine should prob think about calling it career.

That's pretty much all he ever would have been without HBO. Should have lost to Hopkins (twice) and to Wright - and would have if it weren't for HBO.

But, you can only keep a con job going for so long. How many times does Taylor have to get exposed for people to realize he was a mirage to begin with?

Just as it becomes clear that Taylor is definitely finished, you make this post?! Are you consciously trying to be as wrong as possible about everything?

Nobody has aged more in the last 3 years than Jermain Taylor.

The guy's face has become unrecognizable and his speech has become jarbled and punchy. He needs to retire soon; he's earned a ton of money and can't continue to take these beatings.

I like JT too much to see him continue. I hope he just has a good life with his earnings and invests it wisely.

    I hope he bounces back.

    JT is a respectable dude.

Serious stamina problems as a fighter though.

Nope. Pavlik fans have been through this. Say something good about the opponent and people say it is only to try and make your guy look good. But let's be honest. Some of the same things from the Pavlik fight came back in this fight. Couldn't finish and didn't have the stamina. Maybe he just wasn't blessed with the plumbing at birth to be a 12 round fighter. I haven't seen the fight, but it sounds like he was fading by the 11th again? Probably before?

Ouch! That's the harshest thing I've seen about Taylor in years! :!:

I'd like to agree with you, Sarah (on the sentiment, that is; not on the technical details):
As a person, he seems to have matured all-of-a-sudden since Pavlik I into somebody I can root for. However, it's not like he's getting hurt and having trouble standing up or suffering multiple flash-KDs... he's been literally put to sleep from the first Pavlik fight on. He's still way too amped-up and nervous at the beginning to have anything resembling legs in the last third. Sure, he looked relaxed against Lacy, but poor Lacy had that "Why...why are you hitting me? I though we were friends!" look on his face the whole time and it's hard to get nervous against someone you're that close to.

He was fading well before the 11th, and it was hard to see why. He wasn't overly active in the first half of the fight; he was fighting very methodically and pacing himself very well. His workrate wasn't great but he was being very effective. And then all of a sudden he just stopped throwing punches in the last few rounds.

The man needs a full-time conditioning coach in a bad way. He had the fight in the bag and gave it away.
