I'm absolutely sure that HBO will make, or has already made it's offer for this superb match-up. IMO Taylor is still respected by the average HBO viewer, therefore he can do some good ratings on a regular WBC card. The problem is the money. Both Taylor and Kessler are (or think they are) in a position where they are demanding big payments for big fights. HBO simply doesn't have the budget to pay both sides well, and this fight is not PPV worthy. Such a shame. So Taylor will go after the Froch-Pascal winner IMO, since that way he could put at least the 60% of the budged in his pocket. 60/40 for Kessler would be acceptable for Mikkel, but not for Taylor. Which is a shame again. This is clearly the biggest SMW fight at least in the US, and therefore it's the biggest money fight at 168.
Well if Froch and Taylor want to be considered the best at SMW then they will have to fight Kessler end of.
Superfight that needs to be made next for both men. If Kessler has to travel to the states and take a paycut to get the fight, he should do it.
Let's get some negotiations for this fight happening. Neither man has fight lined up yet, so what are they waiting for?
If Kessler has to take a pay cut and travel to the US he should do it ? Why should he go to his opponents home ground and be paid less. If Taylor in typical American fashion demands home advantage, he should pay for it. Why not Taylor go to Denmark and take a pay cut. the USA is not the centre of the boxing world, except in the eyes of the USA
And it would attract a bigger crowd in Denmark. And since it is not going to be on PPV all logic points toward having the fight in denmark. But i doubt that Taylor would travel!
Yes he should. Taylor will not travel to Denmark and take a paycut. So if he's not going to do that, Kessler will have to do it. If neither man does, well then it'll be like Jones/DM all over again. Also, when we say paycut, is it really that bad? The 2 men will earn MILLIONS for fighting each other. MILLIONS.
