Jim Wilkes, Jeff Lacy's attorney and adviser, has confirmed to St. Peterburg Times boxing writer John Cotey that Lacy will return to the ring against Jermain Taylor on November 15. "I'm telling you, as Jeff's attorney, a deal has been reached," Wilkes said. "It took a lot of work, a lot of effort, a lot of discussion, but we got it done." anybody surprised? :think
Not in the slightest bit surprised. Lacy deployed the classic negotiating technique of - 'sulking like a spoiled child until he gets his way'. What a genius! He should become a promoter when he 'retires'
are you having a laugh?! i certainly wont be bothered by it, nothing from these fighters interests me, Joe C showed Lacy up, Taylor has never impressed me, just winning against Hopkins twice, then fighting a blown up welter and only just winning. No chance will this fight be interesting, boring money grabbing sh1ts. Taylor especially, he even admitted it wasnt about the belts or his boxing, he just wants money, hope he's the one led on his back in november.
I also have to say that I think Lacys chances arent too bad in this fight. Of course Taylor is the favorite, I guess everyone agrees with that. But Taylor is hittable to the head and at least in the first rounds of the Mendoza fight Lacy looked pretty fast and sharp again like he didnt against Tsypko and Manfredo. So if he can land some of his rights on Taylors chin, who knows whats gonna happen. If Lacy doesnt land a great shot and hurts Taylor though, Taylors fast combinations will take over against the bad defense of Lacy. But I hope Lacy can pull off the upset and I think its possible.
I see it as the complete opposite, Lacy has absolutely nothing to offer now, he's garbage. And Taylor doesn't even look bothered half the time, it'll be a huge snoozefest.
hmm... 2 of the most overated fighters in recent years fighting against each other..... who cares?.... but nah, i'll watch.... wont pay, but i'll watch it.... i would do an analysis but we all no who's gonna win right?
