    Why choose Lacy over him?

Taylor is scared to lose to an unknown name like Froch.

Lacy looked terrible lately, everyone knows hes totally shot to **** and has no chance.

Because Froch is a HUGE risk for a little reward, Froch is like a cruserweight on fight night a big puncher and is virtually unknown in the USA and would have a ligitimate shot of beating him unlike Lacy who is well known in USA and has virtually no chance of beating him.

Taylor ducks no man, his record is crystal clear evidence of that.
Watch any of the interviews of Jermain Taylor, he would literally fight Wladimir Klitschko if we craved that fight.

Taylor is a throwback, hes more than up for anyone :good

Look people keep saying that lacy is shot i dont think he is shot he just needs to fight more. He looked good for the first 5 rounds until he got tired. but that is just my opion on Lacy. I dont know much about Froch but i do know that Jermain aint afraid of him.

How about 2 losses including getting knocked the **** out by a monster followed by 9 months off! A tune-up is the smart thing to do.

Taylor and Froch will meet eventually, and unless Froch somehow manages to totally change everything he does in the ring, JT will hand him his ass for 6-7 rounds, and then stop him.

You mean he will run and get a favour from the judges like usual:patsch

Just keep telling yourself that Lacy is a better fight than Taylor vs Froch, you might manage to convince yourself.

    Answer this question

Did he (and his promoter) take the easier fight or not?

Nobody is saying Froch would beat Taylor, its just a better fight all round.

I did not say it was a "better fight." Sometimes you have to think like a manager or promoter to understand what is going on. It's smarter fight for Taylor at this point, and it comes with a bigger paycheck. Furthermore, you are seriously over rating Froch. How about we have Froch fight somebody that matters before he gets an undeserved crack at an olympic medalsit and former undisputed world champion?

    nope impossible.

Lucian Bute holds the IBF title and is supposed to defend it in October vs Librado Andrade.

and as for the poster who asked if it was for WBA belt, also a no, Kessler is that belt holder, so see below.

**the Lacy/Taylor bout is for no titles and kinda pisses me off, because Lou DiBella (Taylor's promoter) basically admitted to the public that he was leaning more toward facing Lacy because Lacy is the bigger name, and a network (HBO) would be more likely to pick up a Taylor/Lacy fight rather then a Froch/Taylor fight.

as for Froch he could wind up facing Jean Pascal for the vacant WBC belt, but who knows on the status of that.
