Taylor looking at Jean Pascal for March fight

Taylor-Froch will happen in the late summer. Big deal. Just wait a few more months. JT ain't no punk. He's probably got the most balls out of anyone in boxing today.

 

I haven't heard any rebuttal from Froch about the injury situation, so until I hear otherwise I see no reason why this wouldn't be true.

I wouldn't mind seeing it either way. These guys fight 10 times there will be 10 really good fights.

 

I think Froch can fight in April. If Taylor is fighting Pascal - a tough enough fight - end of March...

Anyway, I'm glad they are looking away from HBO, who don't seem to have a clue these days.

Showtime seem to be making inroads with the top US talent at 168 - Taylor, Dirrell, Ward. The most US friendly champ is Froch; I'm sure he'll be involved soon.

Pascal 2 would be great. Could be another thriller, or could demonstrate improvement/maturity of froch if he can win easier. Froch's promoter puts on shows in Canada, so maybe it'd be useful to get into that growing market.

But I think he'd want to get someone like Taylor to get into the US market, the extra $s from American TV that helps make the unifications when the time is right.

I wouldn't mind Froch-Inkin. Sounds crazy, after Inkin's 2 pullouts. However Inkin is a respectable scalp, and needs a title now that he lost the WBO version in his 1st defence. The germans seem set on challenging for every 168 title, and I'd prefer Inkin to Stieglitz...

I would be very surprised. Taylor's camp have indicated, firstly with his duck of Howard Eastman when Eastman's team won the purse bid and secondly with the comments about Froch needing to come to North America that the golden boy is not prepared to travel outside his comfort zone in the states. Canada may be just about near enough but I doubt it.

Taylor isn't letting the WBC dictate his schedule. Nothing wrong with that.

Care to explain the smilie? The facts of this one are well documented. The two were due to fight a final eliminator for a shot at Hopkins which went to purse bids. Team Eastman won the bid and announced that the fight would be at the Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Taylor immediately pulled out of the bout and fought a past-it Joppy at home instead. Would he have beaten Eastman? Very likely. But if it walks like a duck...
