Taylor looking at Jean Pascal for March fight

Froch has said he's ready to fight taylor, if taylor fights for the highest purse why did he fight lacy for less money AND no title. theres no reason for jt not to fight him other then the obvious fact hes ducking froch and the oppertunity to be a two weight world champion.

 

i hate 2 say it but jermaine is dodgeing froch but ive no reason why he couldnt beat him it would be close

There was no proof that Taylor fought Lacy for less money than he would've gotten for Froch, only claims made by Froch's promoter a month after the fight took place. Exact figures were never released so until prove otherwise, it's just hearsay.

 

One thing to remember. Taylor-Lacy was a WBC final elim, right? So Taylor paid sanctioning fees. He's fought, and paid, for the right to challenge Froch, it would seem.

Taylor is a nice, half a step up from Pascal and I see no reason why Froch can't rise to the challenge.

If Taylor keeps delaying, there's always Dirrell to get Froch on Showtime. If it goes well for Froch, Ward and Johnson will likely get built for title shots as well. Zuniga might be able to make things interesting. Looks promising, Taylor or no Taylor, to me.

Strange that Murat is out of the top 10 when he ws going to be made the next mandatory (or at least put in an elim with Johnson).

Ummm.. YOu got the figures on this? I think I recall seeing he got around $2mill for that fight. Lacy threatened to pull out cuz he only got $.5 mill.

 

If he got 2 mil, I would've hopped on that fight too

 

Taylor is about money. We know that. And don't think Froch isn't letting this go to purse bid knowing it will kill the fight.

 

Taylor's a fading fighter, isn't a strong super middle and wants the easiest money courtesy of American TV - isn't he also looking to fight Roy Jones? The man was a millionaire before he turned pro, and just doesn't have the hunger - he has the talent, but doesn't appear to "want it". The fighters hit harder at super middle, the opponents are bigger, and many/most of Taylor's opponents were light middles.

 

It's not a duck until Taylor signs on the line to fight a lesser fighter.

This is the problem with message boards; mob mentality takes over and everyone starts repeating rumors and hearsay without waiting for the facts.

 

RJJ has been looking to fight Taylor, not vice versa.

Actually, Taylor was trying to get him last year after the 2nd Pavlik loss, but RJJ wasn't interested then.
