Absolutely, locally they are known as the "spindicator".

 I knew as I was reading the link you put up yesterday, I couldn't help but wonder the whole time about the Taylor re-match clause.

These rematch clause always get me.What happens if Taylor wins the rematch and there are 1-1 does that mean they have a decider,no it will mean Taylor going away claiming he is the number one guy even if he doesn't KO him.I think Taylor has to beat him twice to cement his number one status now.

Looks like the balls in Taylors court & we'll have to wait on his decision. If he wants the rematch, at 166 lbs KP will really rock his world.

No belts on the line will mean less pressure on Kelly & all the pressure will be on JT, wanting to avenge his only loss & knowing very well what may happen again.

I suppose Taylor wants to end his career extra early. He'll have absolutely no routes after getting KTFO twice.:yep

But hell, I'll enjoy seeing Jermain starched again.

The only way Taylor will keep getting those 3 mil paydays is to rematch Pavlik. And if he wants to fight the winner of Calzaghe/Kessler he's gotta win.

    four possibilities
    ----------------------------

    1) The Pavlik-Duddy Jan fight is all smoke. Taylor plans to force the rematch.

    2) Taylor wants his belts back. But the contract specified a rematch at 166. Pavlik's team has forced Taylor's to accept an interim fight in exchange for taking the rematch at 160.

    3) Taylor's team is convinced Taylor is not ready to rematch Pavlik. They want a few more months prep time and have renegotiated with Pavlik's team to allow them the time to prepare.

    4) Taylor's shot. His first loss (by KO no less) has damaged his confidence. He needs to rebuild and the rematch clause has either been dropped or delayed until further notice giving Pavlik freedom to face whomever he wants.

  9. Taylor will probaly get the rematch, and Pavlik will give him one, maybe this time at 168.
Most rematches arn't as good as the originals, i think Pavlik will stop him again..

    T'will be Taylor's death-wish, career-wise.

    Why?

If Taylor puts up a good fight and loses again its hardly that big a black mark against him.

Granted he won't be able to pull in the 3 mil paydays anymore but if he doesn't face Pavlik again he won't be able to pull in those paydays again either. So damned if he does or damned if he doesn't, he might as well do. In any event he should be able to pull in at least one last big payday for the Pavlik rematch.

After that its entirely up to Taylor. He can retire or he can move into Super-Middleweight and start making a name for himself there. He'd have to settle for lesser paychecks but so do a lot of fighters. Zuniga, Miranda, Mundine, the loser of Calzaghe/Kessler.... There's plenty of good fights if he wants them.

Doing it at 166 is abit dangerous, you'll have Calzaghe and Kessler pressuring you for fights.

How bout we give Taylor a little credit for even wanting to fight a fighter who KO'd him?

The clause in the contract states that Taylor has until the end of the month to say if he wants the fight. Any thing that the spindicator says--yes im from y-town also---has no bearing. Bottom line is taylor has until the 31st of this month to decide. MY guess is he waits until that day for a real answer. Pavlik camp knows this.
