Taylor might turn down Froch for bout with Lacy

Lacy is kaput.

He's been truly dreadful for nearly 2 years now and is a laughing stock.

Froch comes with a WBC world title shot ready made - it makes perfect sense.

Froch's weaknesses are obvious - workrate, low left... but the guy can't buy a fight!!!! Even with the WBC belt dangling in the background.

Froch has called out every fighter under the sun!

I keep saying it but i think Pascal is gonna get his title shot without necessarily fighting Zuniga

Hey a strap is a strap in my book better the wbc than the others like the wbo (Warren boxing organsation) .In terms of opponents not sure lacy has much or any credibility left, after his last couple of performances .Froch what has he done ??? the occasional has been here and there ,nice inflated record Big mouth .Then JT twice Pavliked after a spate of substandard defences .**** the agony of choice.Probably Froch is the better choice for taylor ,he at least has more credibility of sorts (which is not saying much)

 

This is shameful if he fights Lacy over Froch, Lacy has been awful in his last 2 fights.

 

he should fight froch. froch deserves a title shot and it would be an interesting fight, although taylor wears him down and kos hiim in the 9th.

get your facts right buddy. if he wants to make the fight why doesn't his promoter dig up the cash. do you actually believe nobody would fight him?? where is your OFFICIAL source to make that claim??

with froch its all talk. no source = no credit -thats the way it is.
If you want to be a GREAT then do GREAT things, come out of your shell and prove yourself and make the fights that give you the status.

 

his manager wants him to have a tune up before he fights again. they said that after the pavlik fight and that is a wise move as taylor needs to get his confidence and see how he feels after 2 losses and tough fights -its a good move by taylor dnt knock him for that i can;t

 

GBP should build Lacy back up a bit before they throw him in with someone like Taylor. Too soon.

 

Froch never gets big fights because promoters have too much control over fighters in the UK.

They never let them fight on bills staged by other promoters - when he could have had a couple of fights against US journeymen or gatekeepers and made a bit of a name for himself.

This is where I feel Frochy has been a bit dumb - signing for a promoter with little financial clout and a totally useless marketing office, who counts Junior Witter as his biggest name. OK - Frank Warren is an arsehole, but he could have done a much better job than Mick Hennessy could in a million years.

Mick apparently sees the WBC title as a way to turn Frochy into the biggest name in world boxing. Trouble is, Mick, we are in the UK, where boxing is governed by Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe and David Haye, and also, he is 31 in a weeks time. By the time Floyd Mayweather was 31 he had won world titles at five different weights and beaten some HoF'ers. Froch hasn't done ****!!

 

I'd ****ing **** myself if Taylor chose got Lacy, and Lacy sparked him.

 

Either way, JT easily beats a top ranked guy, making him feel better about himself. As of now, even though he's slow and one-dimensional, i'd say Lacy is a better fighter. He is more known and more money is involved, so that is a benefit. Also, we can compare Jt's performance to Calzaghe's, which might clear some things up, considering that both have close wins over B-Hop, both by setting to high of a pace for the 40+ year old. Maybe JT just can't beat Pavlik, and Calzaghe isn't really any better than Taylor based on results against B-Hop and Lacy, maybe Lacy does very well and Joe comes back into P4P king consideration. It would be interesting to see.
