Im not one that really believes in rematches, most of the times the guy that won the first fight will win the second. There are cases were I feel that a rematch could be a totally different story. I dont think that this is a case. I think that the fight plays pretty much as the first did. I think that Taylor would most likely hurt Froch again in a rematch and may actaully go after him, I think that would be his only chance. Although he could have held his way to a win the other night in the 12th round.

I just rewatched it, had Taylor up by a couple going into the 12th. It would've been a draw had JT finished on his feet.

One thing I noticed that probably does Jermain no favors is that he was too tense and herky jerky early; the announcers were talking about how relaxed he looked, but I just didn't see it- he seemed as tightly wound as usual. It's easier to snap a counter like that, but the problem is when you stay tensed up the entire time, it's alot harder to fight a good 12 rounds without that catching up to you. Taylor's stamina would look alot better if he found a way to conserve his energy more efficiently. At this point, that might be easier to fix than to try and become a great finisher, which is his other glaring weakness.

My brother and me were talking about that yesterday. Taylor burns alot of energy with that un-needed and extra body movement. But I still think that his issues are deeper that stamina, I think its between his ears.

Taylor looks intimidated when he's in the ring, as if he doesn't enjoy being in there. Contrast that with guys like Hopkins and Calzaghe who go in exuding confidence and look like they actually enjoy a good fight. Taylor has all the tools but he is too humble and nice for the ruthless sport of boxing.

Agreed. I can't think of another guy that honestly seems as uncomfortable winning a fight as Jermain does (odd as that sounds). I suppose Judah could fit that description to an extent, as well, but Zab always came off as a bit of a loose cannon; with Jermain, he just seems so damned level headed going in to and after the fight, it doesn't make sense to see it happening with him as routinely as it does. It's like the worst thing for him is to jump out to an early lead, because he then spends the 2nd half of fights doing his damndest to give it right back.

I'd be surprised if Froch started as badly as he did on Saturday in a rematch - he looked a bit overwhelmed by the ocasion, and was a lot more comfortable once he'd settled down a bit. Taylor certainly did enough to earn a rematch, but I think Froch would deal with him a lot more comfortably should the rematch happen.

JT was a step up for Froch and that was immediately evident from the bell. I agree with comment made above; JT gave Froch a boxing lesson for 10 rounds. The biggest mistake JT made was he would throw some great shots but then hold his right hand back rather than capitalizing.

Froch looked very nervous to me for at least half of that fight and was not his usual self, his low guard cost him dearly on the scorecards with the amount of solid hits he received from JT.

Either way the twelth knockout was against expectations and made for a great fight.

JT did more than enough to make a rematch exciting. Held in the UK it would be a big draw. I think Froch will be more relaxed and be more explosive however I think JT will again outbox him.

I fancied JT to win before and think he would win a rematch, but then the beauty of boxing is there are no certainties!

Definitely should be a rematch in England, and when Taylor loses again he should retire.

Absolutely - it was a big step up in class, first fight in the US, hostile crowd etc so it wasn't a great surprise that he struggled to find his feet at first. He'll be used to it next time round, so if a rematch did happen I think he'd cope with Taylor a lot better.

I agree. From what I have seen Taylor always seems to be a class act in and out of the ring.

Where does all this stamina bull**** come from? Taylor was throwing decent right hands at the beginning of the 12th and looked fine...Froch threw a boomer straight down the pipe,Taylors legs went and he got on his bike...**** all to do with stamina, the man was hurt.

There won't be a rematch because that would mean Taylor having to travel to the UK and he doesn't know where his passport is.
