That's just a bit on the harsh side. I hope no one gets really hurt.

I'd like to see Pavlik win because he's a Buckeye and proud of it. Plus he's a blue collar kind of dude. Youngstown is a tough town but there's some good folks there. But back on point, I'd think Pavlik will use any perceived slight as motivation. It never hurts when you're an athlete to be a little extra motivated.

I really think for Taylor to win he's gotta knock Pavlik out early and it will have to be at close range. The longer the fight goes I think favors Pavlik.

Indications are most boxers consider these distractions and attempts to get under your skin or just sell tickets. I don't think KP needs any additional motivation or distraction. Plus, see my post above. After his fight with Miranda, KP said, "The kid hits like a mule." Kid? Boy? My 78 year old mother still has "the girls" over once a month. The only place this 'slight' is getting ANY play is internet bulletin boards.

That's probably true, but at its heart boxing is a brutal sport and controlled anger I'd think would be a good thing. I do think that "boy" and "kid" do have some different connotations. I don't think Kelly Pavlik meant kid in a demeaning way at all, he sounded very respectful of Taylor. But don't need to get into the semantics of it all.
