I want to state this loud and clear: Whoever is letting Jermain Taylor keep fighting, whoever is licensing him, managing him, promoting him, paying him, broadcasting his fights, is a potential accomplish in a crime. This man should not be fighting! On the one hand, respected medical professionals from the field of sports medicine disagree with the theoretical idea that a boxer who has suffered bleeding of the brain should be allowed to keep fighting. But even more than the theoretical idea, Jermain is showing clear signs that something is not quite right with him. Even if we didnt know Jermain has had neurological problems in the past, I think his long career, his declining ability and his recent behaviour should make his handlers and the commissions stop and think. Hopefully everything OK, and we could fool ourselves a little bit by saying "a team of medical doctors has cleared him to fight", but there are clear signs here and people are not unaware of them, they are just choosing to ignore them. I still hope everything turns out alright for Jermain and somehow someway this bout convinces him to retire.
I couldn't agree more. The man shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the ring. But greedy promoters and managers realize that they can still make a dollar off of him so they let him fight. I hope he makes it out of the fight without taking a sustained beating over 12 rounds the guy simply can't take a good punch anymore he's done, he's been a victim of some of the ugliest KOs of this era. Someone in his family should pull him aside but their probably the ones eating off if him telling him he's still got it. What a joke.
There is a distinctly different look to Taylor’s face It’s almost as if there’s nothing behind his eyes, just emptiness. I feel absolutely terrible saying that. I hope he loses by non-punishing UD and that’s the last we see of him.
Jermain Taylor isn't the fighter he used to be, but Soliman doesn't deserve to be called champion either. I think JT beats Soliman because Soliman isn't that great of a boxer and he isn't a big puncher either.
I wonder if that might help him get out of this safely? Like if he gets knocked out by a nothing sort of punch, it might save him from a prolonged beating which is generally more dangerous than getting knocked cold from one punch (not that getting knocked out isn't dangerous).
Taylor should not have been taken out of SuperSix like he was and hopefully tonight he will show us exactly that.
Blame that little evil thing called greed !! As long as someone can make money of this they will let him fight
Taylor has already refused to fight Golovkin.........................he is afraid of getting killed in the ring. Taylor is no in Golovkin's class and never will be.............
