I think that would be smart. I think Teo needs some structure and mentorship as he seems to be struggling a bit. If Teo's still with ol Bob, ol Bob will be calling all the shots for the time being and organizes at least one soft touch at 140. ......unless Bob says 'F*** you' and makes him fight Ramierez first up.
Danny Swift would be levels above anyone Taylor has fought to this point. But i think Danny has his eyes set at the 154 pound division.
I get it JT fans want him to fight an easy fight in his WW debut when he moves up and thats cool, but hes the undisputed champion at 140 and guys like "samuel vargas" wont cut it. If you dont want to fight any of the young guns like ennis or ortiz in your debut then coo. But theres WW vets like Ramos, Guerrero, Josesito Lopez and maybe even Hooker who are all better challenges to fight. And im sure those guys would be salivating at an oppurtunity to fight Taylor. I like Taylor and judging him by his warrior mentality im sure when he moves up to 147 it will be against someone legit.
Moving up to 154? wow. Danny already looks a bit body builderish to me which I assumed was why he was a low volume puncher/ one paced.
Nobody thinks JT is a bum so stop the exaggeration. Its just that putting in him agasinst the likes of EJ,Bud, DSG and Boots is a bad idea if you want to keep him winning. I notice your use of sparring stories when it embellishes the narrative you are promoting. You called EJ basic meat and potatoes. Lets hope EJ does not see such comments and a fight is made with JT because you will be responsible for the beating inflicted on JT. Its best for his career to stay at 140 and face the challenges Prograis rematch, Mikey, Lopez, Tank and Haney. For the avoidance of doubt JT is an excellent fighter just think the elite sharks at 147 will be to much for him. Which of the 147 elite do you think he can beat?
On his night I think he can beat all of them - I don't think we have seen Taylor's ceiling yet - and sure, whilst the Prograis fight was close, it was mostly as close as it was after a head clash in the 7th?? meant Taylor couldn't see out of one eye - which allowed Regis back in, yet Taylor still managed to win rounds even with only one een! Taylor will be better, stronger and hit harder at 147. Tough night for anyone , and I wouldn't bet against him. Right now, Crawford and Spence would be favourites (and with Spence it maybe even depends how he comes back from eye surgery). Anyone else at 147 I'd put my money on Taylor right now - VERY few weaknesses, and VERY strong on intangibles. I'd also add that I thought Taylor and Rougarou elevated each other and pushed each other to excel; I would give Regis great chance against the fighters at 147 as well, their fight was very high quality IMO, with both fighters pushing the other on to better things. I'd love to see a rematch at 147.
Please! After your recent RBR cards esp Benn's points win, i think its you that needs a trip to specsavers
Taylor vs Prograis was an excellent fight and while it elevated them the truth is there is not much between them and its possible another set of judges would have scored it for Prograis. The 147 pound elite will stop both guys. JT has his weaknesses. If he moves up above it you will find out I was right. If he stays at 140 poundshe will be successful against most except for my boy Tank another special fighter who provides separation.
Ha! Saying that Tank has ANY chance against Taylor renders your opinion null and void to me! We will see...
