Does anybody know how much the Mundine VS Solaman fight earned?

I will take a guess and that may motivate someone to get the real numbers.

    6000 at the gate average @ $80 = $480,000
    Corporate tables x 20 @ $7,500 each = $150,000
    PPV 20,000 @ $50 = $1,000,000
    150 PUBS @ $2,200 = $330,000
    Sponsors $300,000
8000 people eating and drinking venue takes 25% say $40,000

This is $2,300,000 and we know Main event takes a good amount as does the venve and other fighters but Mundine and his team must pocket 25 to 30% or circa $600,00 to $800,000.

    Anybody got real stats?

There's absolutely no way that 6000 people paid to get in. Normally the venue takes all money with eating, drinks etc. Certainly the venues I've been involved in anyway. Not shooting you down in anyway, but I think the numbers on this one would've been pretty low.

I've heard from a few people that plenty of tickets were given away, much like all of Choc's fights. Maybe 6000 paid, I'd doubt it though. Prices started at $50.

Even if we drop the paying numbers down to 4000 and the other figures down 30% Mundine still makes $400,000 to $500,000 for taking fights that he wants. he fights 3 or 4 times a year so he makes great money and thats the problem.

Why stop the great income with a risk fight.

Mundines plan will be to fight average guys for years who have good records but are over their best to pad his own record. Then he will take a big fight once every 2 years and if he wins them he will proclaim himself to be the best.

In years to come Taylor will look great on mundines record as time goes by the next generation of fans will see mundine against Aussie legends like Green, Taylor, Ellis, Waters, Thornbery, Hamden and Soloman.

If Mundine beats Sturm we will never hear the end of it.

Yeah, you're right. He's been brilliantly marketed. There's no doubting that.

Tony Mundine runs Boxa Promotions to doesn't he? So wouldn't he take a good cut of this personally? I don't know how all this works out being family and all.. Still I'd say this fight would have been obviously one of the lower earners, **** he really does need to pick up his game though.. 4 pointless defences of his **** title in a row...

Mundine has been bleeding the Australian public dry now for a long time...... no doubt about that. Very smart business sense beating the b graders in your own backyard.

Anyway i don't have a problem with that, i do have a problem with him spruiking "I'm the best" crap that comes out of his mouth when clearly he does't fight the best.

    From another forum -

Mudine Soliman only made 500 grand so the pay per view honeymoons over for him, no wonder he wants greeny out of retirement, but to be honest, most people these days know that isnt a contest anymore either, hell be back playing for souths next year.

Shannons been offered a 100 grand plus 80 grand worth of tickets, but hes holding out for $250k, The only positive i can find about this fight is i just hope Shannon gets a chance to head butt and elbow the man and get disqualified, before he gets knocked out, Mudine Soliman only made 500 grand so the pay per view honeymoons over for him, no wonder he wants greeny out of retirement, but to be honest, most people these days know that isnt a contest anymore either, hell be back playing for souths next year.

thats the whole post.... **** he got offered already 100 grand that is good money for shannon he should take it....
