Jermaine needs to learn how to clinch. He should also work on keeping his hands up. Pretty routine stuff for a pro.
One thing I freaking HATE about this fight is that Jermain Taylor has all the tools he needs to totally out class Abraham, but I do not feel I can count on Jermain to understand and utilize those tools! Abraham likes to spend 3-5 rounds standing around like he's waiting for a bus while he studies his opponent. After that he opens up more. Jermain likes to start hard and fast. It's my opinion that JT is capable of using those early rounds to hurt Abraham. Hurt him and keep him hurt, and he won't ever open up. He'll hide in a corner behind his shell. However, the way I see it, JT will look awesome for 6-8 rounds, and then starting ****ing up. I hope I am dead wrong, and that Jermain puts a beat down on this pretender.
Not meaning to sound like a dick. But, I run 5miles in 40 mins. He does need to step up the pace it seems.
He always spars at 1 pm, because that equals the fight time in Europe? Without knowing too much about the human biorhythm that does not sound like such a great idea to me. Unless he lives entirely be German time (which I doubt), he might actually do more harm than good with that.
It'd be nice if Taylor does do well in the Super six Tournament, it'd be true redemption for Taylor if he could win it. I'll be happy if Kessler or Taylor wins it.
If he's building up his legs, it's almost a given he's not doing more road work. I've ran for conditioning when my legs were sore from squats and it's like moving in quicksand with anchors for legs. If Taylor's never done them before, the soreness from them will hit hard if he's not moved along very gradually.
I like Jermaine as he seems like a genuinely nice guy,but I don't see him winning any of his Super 6 bouts.
Would love to see JT do well in the tourney, hes got all the tools to succeed and he fights everyone.
I'm hoping Taylor does well in the tournament too. It's kind of shocking that someone at the world champion level with the money at his disposal didn't hire someone to figure out his diet and training for him. I always thought elite athletes had every possible variable maximized in their favor but I guess this isn't the case for some boxers. I know if i had the talent and ability I'd train freaking hard as hell and my entire life would be geared towards being the best athlete I could possibly be. I like the fact that he's lifting weights but leg press? I hope he's doing some real strength training with free weights, like squats and deadlifts too. Moving up to SMW should give him a chance to get a lot stronger. About boxers not eating meat, i've seen Pacquiao's meals mentioned three times, and two of those times involved steak, the third involved white rice, so I'm not so sure about that.
