Green has mental problems. He cannot stop looking at his feet during a fight. He pissed off ESPN who loved him. He actually pays Greg Leon to give him advice. Taylor wins this EASY!!!
I think Green will do a lot better than people expect if he comes in right and doesn't stare down at his shoes, because if he does then Jermaine would knock him out. I think the most likely thing to happen is that Jermaine out boxes him to a decision, because recently he has been the more active fighter and has fought the better competition lately. Green could definitely pull the upset though, hes a lot better than Lacy at this point.
Green is shot and if the rumors of this fight are true, Taylor will win easily. Why would Taylor duck Froch, who has a title, to engage in a meaningless fight with a man who is obviously unfit to be in the ring?
I think Jermaine knows that Froch has a bad style for him. With Taylor's inconsistency, defensive flaws and fading down the stretch, i can't see how he would cope with an awkward, hard punching natural super middleweight with boxing ability and power in both hands.
he can step it up. he has only had one fight with a SMW and he should be fighting for all the titles already? just some time ago he was written off as an hbo hypejob for being beat by kelly pavlik now he should fight for the title because he beat lacy? makes sense. maybe he needs to get his feet wet at the weight against legit comp before he steps up to the big plate and everyone says he is just being pushed by the networks again. oh yeah and maybe he needs another fight to get a real feel at his new weight. green has speed power and movement but lacks a good chin. good fight as long as green is actually healthy. this is the type of fight you get before stepping up to the big plate. going right out at the best maybe isnt the best idea when you have only fought one SMW in lacy who wanted to retire prior to the JT fight anyway. sorry about the typos i'm usually drunk when i type on here. but this is just my opinion.
so first taylor fights an eliminator eventhough he is the mandatory, then after figthing the eliminator and still mandatory challenger, he still does not go after the belt.. just laughable and borderline pitifull i couldnt care less what he HAS done, its what he DOES that matters, and im inclined to question his dedication.. THE money in a green fight, cant be that much bigger then a kessler or froch fight.. this again proves, how hard it is, for a european fighter, to get the big fights stateside, unless they are willing to fight for peanuts, while creating a name for themselves.. god forbid, that an american fighter should fight for a lesser purse, while pursuing a challenge..
i like green. i hope he can really pull through, but he likes to keep his hands at his chest and that worries me. jermain taylor has a good right hand and has started to establish his jab in his recent fights.
Good fight for Taylor. He needs to get another couple of wins at 168 lbs under his belt before it makes sense to go for the big beasts anyway. Obviously, he doesn't need a belt and even if he fought Froch, he wouldn't win the WBC title, but the WBC title with strings attached - he'd have to defend it against a mandatory challenger set by the WBC before he'd be allowed to call it his own and fight a voluntary defence or a unification fight. It therefore makes perfect sense for him to take on fellow Americans at home...Lacy, Green, Ward, etc. until the big money fights warrant a worse risk. As long as there's the slightest chance of Calzaghe agreeing to fight him in his last fight, Taylor needs to make sure he stays unbeaten, so no fights against Kessler or Bute, not at this risk/reward anyway. When Green's on song, he is a smooth, technical fighter who would provide a good test for Taylor. I look forward to it. Froch? He should prove himself against a fellow contender like Bika. Less talk, more action, from Froch.
They are promoted by the same guy (DiBella picked up Green right before his last fight) but have never had the same trainer, to my knowledge. AFAIK the only time they've been in the same room together was the press conference for the Nov. 15 event they both fought at in Nashville.
