Its a bit unfair to compare it to Canelo, check out how Charlo/Castano 2 is doing https://tix.axs.com/VGOPOgAAAABG7pZQAgAAAADm/v///wD/////GkRpZ25pdHkgSGVhbHRoIFNwb3J0cyBQYXJrAP///////////shop/search?skin=&tags=&cpch=&cpdate=&cpcn=&cpsrc=&intoff=&cid=&utm_source=&utm_medium=&utm_campaign=&utm_term=&utm_content=&aff=&q=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&p=91d98409-9693-4b40-8946-8499e59dfaf8&ts=1651180124&c=axs&e=98247560438835950&rt=AfterEvent&h=3697fec6deaeba3cd71bda57d1fc4744
At first I thought Katie is on the slide and Serrano will win but when I look carefully most of Serrano's opponents have been complete garbage. Taylor has been in with some tough women like Persoon twice, Jonas and McCaskill I think Serrano might be in for a rude awakening.
I had the Bunce podcast on yesterday and he reckoned that Katie Taylor should do the ring walk to Riverdance, with Michael Flatley doing a jig. I like Buncey, but couldn't really believe what I was hearing. I'll be honest about this fight though, even if I lived next door to MSG and was paid 20 quid to go, I still probably wouldn't bother.
In comparison for Canelo who is fighting in vegas and is the biggest draw in world boxing. What are you talking about?
Even the Stevenson vs Valdez fight in vegas which is easier to sell due to comps from hotels is likely to sell less tickets
Remember Noel Gallagher saying "if you tell 100,000,000 people your the greatest band in the world and 1% believe you. 1,000,000 people believe you are the greatest band in the world" This to me seems to be the promotional strategy for the fight
"They’ve even renamed the Twin Towers to Katie and Amanda." lol I actually heard that in Eddie Hearn's voice when I read it.
I have no doubt this is q big fight and will do well. But I entirely disbelieve this will do anything with the casual fight fans etc
Yeah, it will do alright, but that's all it is. Nothing more, nothing less. One of the biggest fights of all time and you can get a ticket for the same price as a white collar show, and it still hasn't sold out like Hearn claimed. Such a strange thing to lie about too when it's something that anyone can easily check within seconds. I've never had the same hate for Hearn that some do, but a lot of the stuff he's been coming out with lately, particularly regarding this fight and Conor Benn, has really grated on me. I know it's his job to promote his fighters but he sounds like he's losing the plot with his absurd claims.
