Mix you're game up, keep OD off balance with different looks. Lots of feints, mix speed of jab. Work on inside, especially to the body & I think OD is open to left hand when he throws his own left hand. Taylor has excellent timing, something not really talked about. Long, wide punches that can be predictable will lead to counter opportunities but to pull that off, you have to be in the heat of the fire & that's what makes it so interesting.
Plus high quality sparring where he is always held in high regard. In this day, it would be known if he had chin issues. David Haye/Amir Khan/Anthony Joshua are just some amateurs to turn over with questions raised but each of them had been KO'd in amateurs. It's warming up nicely.
Davies has that ridiculous reach, but i think tailors footwork will be able to get him inside it. davies' feet aren't quick, can see his feet getting "stuck in the mud" while he's throwing his shots and taylor will counter them. Davies has that equalising power though and taylor won't have been hit like this before, but by the same token neither has Davies. Davies has the reach & power with good timing once he gets it going, but i think taylor's versatility ad better boxing skills will get him through this, Taylor UD for me
O'hara does have those crazy long arms.... but Taylor is absolutely huge for the weight. Just looking into it and according to the stats I've seen, Taylor has a longer reach by half an inch. So it appears O'hara won't have that advantage tonight.
I've said Taylor from the start Ohara going to ask plenty of questions though with that long range & he has a bit of a shot on him
If Ohara Davies improved on the mic he really could be a killer heel. For someone who is into pro wrestling his promo skills are not great. OD to win by late stoppage I think.
OD is packing glass, that's clear now. Dropped by a jab? Yes he was Some great predictions here. All the smart money was on JT
Predicted OD would win beforehand but I was very very wrong. Josh Taylor is class although I'm disappointed in the manner that OD quit.
I think the Davies camp didn't even given a thought to Taylor's power, the stoppages speak for themselves. But i have to admit i didn't think Taylor would go toe to toe, but he showed more skill, with accuracy and power shots and literally beat Davies at his own game. A great performance from Taylor.
credit where its due, Taylor just beat the $hit out of Ohara Davies. i actually fancied Davies before the fight. Even though i did think Taylor was super talented, i just thought the fight was a little too early for him. But that was pretty much perfect from Taylor and his camp.
