Damn I feel so silly OD never really had a chance did he? I guess I got swept away with how annoying Josh Taylor was during the build up. Taylor is pure class, absolutely crushed his soul and a guy Scotland will defo be proud of in the future. Even in that 7th round I was thinking "ok OD is getting knocked out but he's still my guy he's still entertaining he's still got power" but the guy got up and bloody quit! Literally anyone could have quit and I would understand but not OD man... In a way we should be happy Taylor won regardless of who we were backing. Let's not forget this great fight was FREE in the purest sense and although Matchroom is running the show, matchroom fighters occasionally losing to other fighters helps boxing and makes it more likely we get fights on terrestrial TV. Taylor is definitely world class, he literally won every round against another world class opponent. And please don't be stupid and say OD hasn't got a chin his chin is fine he was just getting hit too clean, too often. He bloody QUIT!
The guy was unsteady from punches prior to that jab, he was eating harder punches all fight and stayed up.
he wasnt knocked down from the punch, he buckled ever so slightly, He took a few steps back after that, took another right then took a knee. i think he was caught square on with that jab. and as for the right hand counter that put him on his ar$e at the end. that was a fantastic punch and the fight had been punched out of him at that stage. He might not have a Froch chin, but Davies is certainly no Amir Khan in the chin department. Saying that, he might have a glass heart. ........
Hey hey hey, no ones saying he has an Amir Khan like chin. Chin's like that only come around every decade or so. What's clear from the fight tonight is that OD just doesn't take the best punch. He looked bothered by every punch JT landed and was rocked/buzzed dozens of times.
I do think people underestimate Taylors power, mainly because his biggest attribute is his technique. so they have this idea that he's just a jab and run kind of guy. ps, that avatar is fantastic
I found Ohara's tactics frustrating. He was throwing big headhunting shots (and missing) constantly. Taylor could see them a mile off and with Ohara planting his feet Taylor countered him very effectively. To go down on a knee a couple of seconds before the bell was naive, especially from a jab. He should have took another knee at the stoppage but he gave in and that's so disappointing. He was losing the fight big time but I'd have loved to have seen how Taylor did over the 12 rounds. Taylor is very exciting and Burns should avoid him at all costs.
The toe toe tactic Taylor employed mixed with intelligent outside movement is exactly what Taylor should have done to OD. Only myself and a few others called this in here. A lot of fans on here don't know how to analyse fighters and buy into hype. It's ****ing embarrassing. Shout out to all who called this fight correctly. The rest of you are deluded casuals or fanboy mongaloids.
Agreed, Taylor was excellent. I was shocked to see it, Davies' camp really did think this would be one-way traffic.
This is a truly atrocious post. What happened to plain old just being wrong, or thinking someone is wrong....why do they have to be a 'deluded casual' or a 'fanboy mongaloid' as well? Join date: Sep 30, 2016 Fckin millennials.
