Let's not forget, Froch had something to prove as well since a number of fans didn't know how often he'd been ducked from other fighters and assumed Froch himself didn't want the tough fights. Well, taking on Jermain Taylor in his back yard in his first US fight and title defense should silence those critics, as well. Props to both fighters for making the fight happen. This is a more important, better fight than Taylor vs Green and paves the way for better fights down the road for the winner.
The people who said Taylor was ducking Froch knew nothing about him. They were talking out of ignorance, plain and simple. Yeah, he offered Wink the rematch but Wink didn't want it. And we all know about Taylor's willingness to exercise his rematch clause right away against Pavlik when everyone thought it was a bad idea and he should've taken a tune up. JT is a warrior. He comes to fight. He's afraid of no one. He's always been that way.
Good fight and definitely better than Taylor-Green. I think Taylor is on a different level than Froch and he'll win a solid decision. But Froch seems confident and is on a bit of a role so he'll give Taylor a rough night. Should be a good fight.
That's a good observation, my friend. They are indeed to good of buddies to try to really damage each other, and they were Olympic Team mates. Same with Corey Spinks, he is a good friend of Taylor's and that fight cost a lot of JT's mojo if you will.
I agree. It is why I told you I really felt for the cat after reading all about him and his interview in the UK rag you're gonna un-subscribe me from.
At minimum I hope he is getting a "made my career worthwhile" payday out of this. He deserves that at the very least.
That's right, Boo. I saw some dumb ass earlier shittin' on JT for not gettin' a KO in a long time. Look at that list, add in Spinks (slippery little ****er that JT didn't want to hurt anyways, they're friends ffs) and Ouma who it would seem one would need a ball bat to maybe knock him down, and there you have it. I believe JT's last KO or atleast closest to it was Marquez who he fought just before fighting Hopkins X 2. I didn't check box rec, but I'm fairly sure this is correct.
:good gotta be. His highest yet, that always makes any man happy. **To the Brit saying all about Froch shouldn't have to travel, the economics have been explained, but think about Tszyu coming to Hatton's house. Or Kessler, who held multiple titles coming to Joe's. It's just $$, or they wouldn't do it.
Yes, Spinks is a slippery south paw, and Ouma:yikes His chin is made out of same alien alloy from outer freaking space; probably not even legal:admin
Froch is naturally bigger and will wear Taylor down. Taylor is the more technically proficient boxer but I'm afraid that will count for little when he gasses and gets pummeled in the corner late on:bbb
Don`t talk stupid.Taylor has the top level experience and the skills but at this weight fighting for the world title it will take quite a lot longer than 2.Taylor looked to have been decked by a shot Jeff Lacy so Froch should deck him also. But i`ll say Taylor could ko him in this one.
