Taylor is faster than either. No way Cal gets a stoppage against him, and I Kessler's work rate isn't Pavlik's so he makes it through 12 with Kessler without too much trouble.
He might be slightly faster than this Calzaghe, but you still actually have to win the fight... He might make it through 12, but again...this isn't winning the fight. That will be an achievement for Taylor though, granted.
Well, not much point in getting into a Taylor/Calzaghe fight. I don't see this ever happening so it will never be resolved in the ring. Too bad. It would be a good fight. Taylor is faster than Kessler and neither guy is going down so I think Taylor scores more against him, just like Calzaghe did. So, if you win more points and go twelve rounds..... I think this is a fight we will see. Possibly before 2009 is up. At least we can agree we would like to see this match up I think?
The simple fact is that Taylor hangs his left hand low and is open to the right hand, particularly the straight right. Being a 1-2 kind of fighter, Kessler would most likely have a lot of success and win a UD.
I like him cause of his modesty and his really down to earth, when pavlik beat him in the second fight and alot people were saying it was a gift and it shouldve been jt's W, he came out and squashed those rumours by telling it like it is "he won that fight and I will never say I beat kelly pavlik because from experience I got from fighting Hopkins is that when fighters say they won they take alot of your glory away" class act jermain and he has the right tool to beat pavlik so to this I don't understand why he still aint undefeated but whatever ey
I dont think so. Kessler simply could not make middleweight. When he fought Calzaghe he had problems making the supermiddleweight limit. And he was 5,5 percent bodyfat at that time. According to his physical trainer
JT would handidly beat kessler, don't forget before the pavlik fight people were predicting him to be the middleweight champ for the forseeable future and go down as an atg because he already beat the two best middleweights available(drew with one but whatever)
Objectively, i would say it's a 50/50 fight. Kessler being more sound fundamentally with the great jab/right. He's pretty basic but he's great at it. He's got really good footwork based on the few fights i have seen of him. Taylor has the superior natural talent and he might have some good counter chances. He can put together 5-6 punch combinations very quickly and has sudden power. His defense isn't great but he took some good rights from Pavlik in their 2 fights and the only time he was hurt was when he got hit with the perfect right. But he took his share of flush right hands. This is a fight that hope happens in the future.
Umm. Okay. I will "homes." Kessler will beat Taylor. There! Really not that hard to "step up," big rocks.
