Miranda is m-m-m-money in the bank to Taylor (c. 2007)

JT wide UD, possibly KO but Miranda's always got that puncher's chance if he catches JT with something flush. But that's a very small chance.

if only Miranda`s boxing skills matched his bull**** he would be unstoppable . Taylor by a wide margin.

Pointless fight for Jermain Taylor, really. What has he got to gain out of this except reasonable financial reward against fairly low risk? I'm sure Miranda is still popular enough to make some money, but he's getting absolutely zero credit after Abraham and Pavlik butchered him, so it makes very little sense to take on a big puncher and put your chin in the firing line. Even a small chance is a chance.

  5. He may come up short but who doesn't want to see fights where one way or the other there will be an exciting KO?

The guy is considered quite limited yet he has gotten Eastman, Green, Abraham (TWICE), and Pavlik to step in the ring with him and all have been pretty decent scraps with great endings. Maybe Taylor will go for it too.

Meanwhile, MK, so brave and talented, is looking at three consecutive unexciting bums after losing to JC?

How is it that one dimensional slugger EM wants and gets pretty decent opponents/fights and Kessler gets threads on bulletin boards (ESB) about "guys he can beat but never meets"?

Kessler is starting to look pretty damn heartless/careful and not working hard enough to get serious opposition in the ring.

Miranda deserves some credit for taking a beatdown (Pavlik) and a hammering (Abraham) and still saying "give me more".

MK is just too damn cautious. Before you know it he'll be past peak and have missed out on his opportunities. But he'll still be a legend on ESB.

    What a bizarre comparison.

But you answered your own question. Miranda has been all reward for not so much risk for the likes of Abraham and Pavlik.

  7. Bizarre? Boxing needs boxers like Miranda don't you think? Or do you prefer talented guys with little tiny baby cojones? How 'bout that Alexeev laying down and calling it an early night? I'd rather see a man like Miranda go down firing against Abraham than another quitting under a little pressure.

    lmao

This is far from a done deal. Just in early stages of discussion from what I am told. Apparently JT cant find a 'better' opponent and wants this date. Miranda is willing and ready (and actually in shape!).

I hope it happens. It may be Miranda last chance to prove something. This is the fight he has wanted for a long time. No doubt a war and an incredible build up.

Well, at least we know it is in discussions now. I was really doubting Froch was going to happen. Wanted to see it, but.....

it would be an interesting fight no doubt

but Miranda's stock at Super Middle had to plummet after getting kayoed by a Middleweight

more risk for Taylor in this fight, as he's got to be the higher rated fighter at 168

Abraham is a tough SOB who can take anything you throw at him. Taylor isnt. If Miranda can get through with one of his rights, the fight could change fast. I give Pavlik credit for taking some solid shots. I dont JT has the chin to handle it.
