Legend is an example of what's wrong with some so called Boxing fans on ESB. He wants to see a certain fighter lose so he can come on ESB and heckle fans of a fighter that lost. The hype that Pavlik gets is from being exciting and nothing else.
And that's what boxing need: excitement! Maybe Pavlik can bring out some in Taylor, because that man is boring. Talented but boring.
Taylor is already saying that this will be his last fight at 160.....a nice excuse if he looses then he can say that he was weight drained. Pavlik needs to knock this guy out
Almost, but allow me to educate you very briefly so you'll have it exactly right: He fights the best middleweights in the entire world. I'm sorry that someone gave you such terrible information. They must not follow boxing in the slightest. But then why did they tell you such an idiotic thing as this? Weird.
Seconded. Props to Taylor for over-ruling people like jack@zz DiBella and making a real fight. No more jr. middleweight no-hopers.
great news should be a decent match up was wonderin when berto was fightin next too, he looks like he's gonna be a right handfull
good. the top guys in 160 and 168 are fighting each other and putting titles and undefeated records on the line. hope the same happens in 147. pavlik's gonna knock taylor out, but should be a tough fight for both
Maybe "Pavlik" is an Americanized way to spell it. Lots of Euro names are changed after the immigrants get here. And I've yet to be able to confirm that Pavlik is or is not Polish & it really doesn't matter, cause he's one of the most talented & exciting fighters in the sport today.
I have never been a JT fan, but I have to give credit where it is due. JT has had a great career, and he has fought a number of really great fighters. However, I see Pavlik as possibley the most dangerous 160 pounder in the world right now. He took out Miranda in 7, Zertuche in 8, Mc Kart in 6, and Zuniga in 9. While none of these guys are on JT's level, they are all good fighters with decent records. They're all tough opponents who come to fight not just survive. Pavlik's biggest problem will be JT's experience. Kelly has never been past 9 rounds, and he has only been 8 rounds twice. Moroever, this is a HUGE step up for him. It's Kelly who will feel the pressure of a world title fight. Jermain is used to it by now. Further, JT has already beaten a few guys who, at the time, were as good as Kelly is now. Pavlik has a good chin, and throws lethal combinations outside or inside. He has real power in both hands, and in the words of Bronco McKart immediately after suffering his first ko in 52 fights, "I think this kid may be the real deal!" If Kelly is able to turn this fight into a war of attrition, JT gets carried out in 6-9 rounds like so many others. If Taylor fights smart, uses lots of lateral movement, clinches or moves away QUICKLY when he's done punching, and forces Pavlik to box with him, he will most likey be able to take "The Ghost" out into deep water and drown him. Kelly Pavlik is untested on the world class level, so we really don't know the full extent of what he's capable of. Personally I think he will beat Taylor, and go on to became a great champion, but I wouldn't bet the rent money on him. Boo
