who gives a ****? has Taylor fought any punchers? No. Pavlik fought Miranda and took FLUSH murderous right hands and continued to walk through them. Taylor got stunned pretty good by a hopkins right and Bernard doesn't have the power he did 10 years ago.

Who cares if you've been stunned, hell even B-Hop and Mayweather have been stunned.... it if you go down and Pavlik has been DOWN twice, one of his knockdown is to that journeyman Bronco McKart.
So? what does Elite fighters have to do with power. :rofl Mayweather and Hopkins have actually FOUGHT punchers. And I'm assuming you didn't even watch the McKart fight, he tripped over Bronco's foot.
That's right Pavlik is not as fast or sleek as Bhops. And taylor is no defensive fighter but has more speed than Pavlik. Taylor's gonna get hit? Yeah yeah yeah and so with Pavlik. Pavlik is no defensive fighter either so that work both ways. Pavlik will get hit too. And I can see him getting hit more and worse.
There are journeyman puncher all over boxing, so what if he hasn't fought a puncher recently. Do you think that one punch is goingto defeat Taylor...NO. It will take skill to beat him. Like him or not, he is unbeaten for a reason, if Pavlik would have fought B-Hop, Winky Ouma or Spink, he would have been LOST!!!
Pavlik supporters keep criticizing Taylor's competition... but it has EASILY been better than Pavlik's. Pavlik hasn't faced a fighter nearly as fast and skilled as Taylor. I understand Pavlik is a fan-favorite because he slugs, but the truth is that NO ONE really knows how good this guy is. He hasn't beaten anybody. Good article on Yahoo right now about Jermain Taylor hearing everyone's criticism over his last few fights. He owns it, and says owes his team better. I understand the "what is he supposed to say" argument, but he said this could be his best fight and he is training harder than ever. It may be because I am a homer... but I believe him. He wouldn't be the first fighter to fight to the level of his competition, and I think he is(wisely) taking Pavlik seriously.
The reality is, when is the last time we've seen Taylor box? He's had the opportunity to shine, but hasn't. Against, Winky, he should have kept the fight in the center of the ring and walked around in a circle to negate Winky's high guard defense which works best against straight punches and if your opponent is standing right in front of you. He didn't box against Ouma, which is a fight that should have been kept in the center of the ring as well, the difference being that instead of hooking and moving, he would do better throwing straights to catch Ouma coming in. In both these scenarios, against smaller men, Taylor was backed into a corner. Against a guy with range and power, a guy that doesn't need to get inside deep enough, which will allow him to avoid a clinch, and against a guy that can exploit Taylor's reluctance to put his hands up, Taylor might just get KOed. BHop had Taylor temporarily stunned, but the fact is, Bhop tried to keep the fight in the center of the ring. Perhaps is Bhop was more aggressive, even he might have found a way to KO Taylor. Pavlik will push Taylor in a corner. And Taylor is going to get hit. Taylor also doesn't seem to fight well going backwards. As I said, he drops his hands and sometimes telegraphs his punches. Taylor was also reluctant to engage with a light hitting Spinks. What will Taylor do when he feels Pavlik's power? Taylor is a good fighter, but his reign is coming to an end.
Exactly. Taylor can't even KO JUNIOR middleweights - and he can't take a punch from a top level MW powerpuncher either, which is exactly WHY he's been fighting light-hitting fighters from the lower weight classes. Both him and DiBella KNOW something that we can only speculate on. People wanna know why Taylor fights tentative, even against light-hitters?? Same reason Fraudley did, gang - he's probably been laid out cold in the gym MANY times. I smell another early KTFO here folks - and, no, it's not gonna be Pavlik.
Ouma's a tough tough guy so I don't really hold that against Taylor. He couldn't KO Spinks because Spinks was running and Taylor stupidly try to box with him, and I do hold that against him, but he's gonna go Pete Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and to a lesser a extent Winston Zeddmore on the Ghost's ass.
Oh come on. Just admit that Taylor's power is NOWHERE near what it's made out to be. He couldn't even KO washed up Joppy, a guy that was plastered in 5 rounds in his prime by welterweight Trinidad.
