Just a couple of points to make...

    * Wright may have limited power, but he was most definitely a middleweight by the time that he met JT. He had already defeated Soliman in an eliminator, and looked to be, by far, the larger of the two against a fighter who had spent much of his career fighting at middleweight and above.

    * And, there's no way that Taylor could be blamed for splintering a title when the sanctioning body in question (IBF) strips a fighter simply for winning the title. Hopkins was the undisputed champion, and the fact that Taylor beat him makes him the legitimate champion in the division...no questions asked.

Abraham is a very good fighter, and a legitimate contender, but, as of now, Taylor is the champion in the division, until someone happens to beat him.

Pavlik is much stronger than the overated taylor. I think Pavlik's punches will slow down Taylor and he won't be able to keep up 12 rounds. Taylor will win the firsts rounds but but Pavlik will take the lead after the 5th and its gonna be over for Taylor who will be TKOed arround the 10th. He should not move at 168 because even thought he has talent, i don't think he can beat guys like Kessler, Bute or Calzaghe. He might have some succes but becoming champion is out of the question at 168.

Thanks for the update. Keep us posted on any big or little news the local Ohio media bombarreds you with. And your pic's don't have to be of Kelly only sparring. Hell, I'd like to see some pic's of him skipping rope, hittting the speed/heavy bag, banging that tire with the sledge hammer, etc., etc.

Yesterday, I spoke with JRD (John), who is taking care of some promotional things. He told me if I come out to Youngstown, I'm welcome to attend his training session. Too bad its about a 7 hour drive.

How long does it take to get from Youngstown to Pittsburgh? I know about how long it would take me to get to Pitt. from NJ.

    Thanx:thumbsup

    Cons of Taylor

    1. Consistent back pedalling
    2. Drops his left an awful lot. The last spinks fight he barely even had it chest level.
    3. His psyche is damaged from the last 2 fighters in which he clearly didnt go toe to toe with and was afraid to get hit.

    Pros of Pavlik

    1. He sticks to the gameplan and will pressure taylor making him fight off of his back foot.

    2. Pavlik is bigger. He is no longer the 17 year old kid that taylor beat up early in his amateur career. Pavlik is now the bigger man and will showcase it.

    3. Pavliks best punch thrown is his right. Ask his last opponent Miranda and the never knocked out-"Zeurtche" add that to the fact that taylor is dropping his left---ouch!

A year or 2 ago i read pavlik saying that he would fight godzilla to get to Taylor.

This Thread starter headline is the exact reason why pavlik is going to pummel Taylor.

Yeah, we all know that nobody wants to go "toe to toe" with Spinks because of his awesome punching power. The other points are valid though, BUT Taylor is going to win.

Taylor ain't Miranda. He 's not going to just stand there and swing wild like a girl :yep Pavlik will get hit with more accurate punches :bbb

Taylor may be more accurate than Miranda, but that's not saying too much. I think he has to get his workrate up a bit to have any chance of cleaarly winnig this fight. I say clearly because that's been his biggest hurdle as champion.

Oh, please. Taylor can't seem to win fights against old men and junior middleweights without getting a gift decision. A real, prime MW like Pavlik is going to expose this HBO hype job bigtime.

In fact, I'm betting that there is a REASON why Taylor and Dibella chose nothing by light-hitting fighters from lower weight classes - and that's that Taylor simply doesn't take a MW punch.

Pavlik by brutal early knockout. :nod
