This was sad to watch. Taylor must and should retire, he was going to give it up after the seventh but to his credit scored the KO but that doesn't change the fact that if he fought Mundine he could suffer serious injury.
Retire now Shannon Taylor, you have been great but do not cotinue.

    Totally agree

first few numbers were alright 4...5...678910, waved it off.

Seran was ahead and was about to get a minutes rest.

I think he had punched himself out but Taylor didnt have much left either.

the ref knew the round was seconds from ending ad gave shannon a gift.simple.seran wobbled taylor with a jab in the 1st round, and the commentaters were unsure, even after watching the replay if he had been rocked by it.he nearly buckled, and his face was a combo of having just seen a ghost and the face one pulls just before the effects of gastro take control ! he would last one round or two max with mundine if choc reallytried.

SO its Mundines fault that taylor has a belt and that he wants it! get real people! he is the man, everyone wants a pay day with the man. Taylor would need 10 more fights to get what Mudine is offering. Taylor will take and then go into retirement just like the man has put many other former champs into retirement.

It's Mundine's FAULT for continually fighting guys like Shannon Taylor who don't have a hope and are several levels below Mundines class. I don't blame Taylor at all if he earns a decent final payday against Mundine, but Mundine is seriously taking the **** by even thinking of taking on Shannon Taylor after Taylor looked lacklustre and was ready to quit against a guy with a 8-5-1 record.

Come on Anthony. We all know you are a talented fighter. Step up to the plate and prove it for once. If not then f#ck off.

Seran? this guy won't set the world on fire.he is a blown up middleweight in there next to Taylor. And Taylor has about 70 percent of his prime self. Mundine will own him though, gauranteed.

Taylor seemed to look like he knew what he was doing, he would walk forward with a tight gaurd like he knew the other guy was getting tired? I only saw the last 3 rounds though? Was similar to ali foreman

Yeah it happened. Then I think his trainer said something about sticking it up Tony (Caradonna I presume), Taylor yelled '**** Tony', got of his stool and won the fight.

yep. taylor wanted to quit. he said something like "i cant do it, i just havent got it no more".

in reality, all he lacks is the dedication. obviously he can still punch. at 36 one would expect him to slip a little, but not to the degree where he gets beaten up by a journeyman.

wonder what taylors thoughts are on how much he owes the public in his next performance? will he train hard and have a dig? or will he take the payday, and give no effort?

if he does the latter, he is doing himself a disservice, as well as his fans, and the public. he should either retire, or have a go.

I watched the fight with a lot of interest.. Time for Taylor to hang the gloves up.. No need for him to get hurt any more. Mundine would have murdered both these guys at the same time. Let's hope Shannon goes on to enjoy his retirement now. A great career.. just short of silk department.
