Personally I've never seen anything special in Josh Taylor. Bob Arum tried to throw a smoke screen out and get the public to believe he would be the guy to challenge Crawford but even I knew that Crawford would have dominated this guy worse than he did Postol, Indongo, & Horne only to give more chants of "Crawford has fought no one" afterwards.

He told on himself with the first fight vs Catterall.

He put the post together quickly to say absolutely nothing. At the end of the day, Brook alone is a better fighter than anyone Josh beat. Porter as well. I dont care what happened in sparring between Josh and Porter. If that's the case, and we can weigh sparring sessions, then I could easily list Floyd as one of Spence's victims, since a young Spence used to get the better of Floyd in sparring.

I will actually concede to Serge that Spence, too, was overrated. No arguments there. Having said, just objectively speaking, Spence was a better fighter than Josh.

No domestic level guy like Catterall would ever push Spencs's face in not once, but twice. How do you even defend two Catterall losses?

Josh does deserve credit for becoming undisputed, but ultimately Prograis and Ramirez will go down in history as nothing more than just okay fighters.

Spence, Davis, and Taylor are the three most overrated southpaws of the last decade, but of the three, Spence had the most quality.

Tottally agree. Not all undisputed champions are equal

Theres a difference between Crawford, Usyk, Inoue, Canelo and Taylor, Charlo, Devin Haney

Seems like many on this forum dont understand that

He was always a little overrated, I agree.

He became undipsuted in a weak field

Teofimo Lopez beat him comfortably and the 140 pound dvision is a lot stronger now than when Josh Taylor was reigning

Agreed. I always felt like the best quality about Josh Taylor was his engine and work rate followed by his chin and durability.

His defense was always poor and he has a short reach so he can be beaten to the punch

Very good fighter but overrated even in his prime

People give Crawford a hard time for his oppsosition at 140 (which wasnt great) but in reality Josh Taylors wasnt much better and Im not sure any of Josh Taylors wins are even better than Postol was at the time

I agree with this post but I think you are underrating Catterall and he is more than domestic level

    He is certainly world level

Kovalev was a better fighter than Josh Taylor

Kovalev will get very underrated historically in years to come

Yeah he was, but I would also wager he was a way worse alcoholic than Taylor too. Taylor was just always overrated. He had the physical advantage and ability to go down to 140.

The new era 4 belt undisputed runs has been vastly overrated. The only one that really been great we’re Usyk’s CW & HW feat. All the others were not as impressive in hindsight.
