The ref should have slowed the count right down to last 44 seconds.

I think the commentators on ITV said it was a long count... I remember hearing it somewhere..

All in all I think the ref did pretty well though, giving Taylor chances to make a way back into the fight. I'd rather see that then a ref jump in after a couple of unanswered punches... ala Jones v Shieka

In theory they should be the same, unless when someone gets knocked down time some how stands still for a moment.

There werevery few clinches in the whole fight, the ref had very little to do. He did his job well though. Froch's kd was handled well, count to 8, nothing to report. Taylor was dangerously gone though, stopped at the right time imo.

Taylor watched the referee and rose at around 7 and 8. He beat the count by a second. He was lucid enough to realize that although his eyes were completely glazed over. It's horrible to see that in a fighter, that vacant look.

Haha! But saying that, what is the difference? Is it not the ref counting 10 seconds??Watching it I thought it was quite long as well, but that added to the excitement in the end I think!

Im so glad the ref didn't stop it at the knock down, Taylor was wrecked when getting up, he had enough. The ref was spot on when Taylor was defenceless on the ropes getting his head smashed in.

Taylor was out on his feet, one more punch could have caused him some very serious damage. Greg Page just died from ring injuries, don't want to see anyone else die of such.

call me a fool, but as soon as someone hits the deck, the timekeeper takes up the count, the ref waves the other fighter to a neutral corner THEN takes up the timekeepers count,he dusent start at 1.
anyway,he has to give taylor every chance,i dident thimk it was a long count,

Stoppage was way too late! Taylor could've been seriously injured. As Farmboxer just mentioned, Greg Page died the other day.

yeh watching the KD again, technically he shouldnt have been able to carry on when getting up from that count as he wasnt fully upright by what should have been the ref's 10, and he certainly wasnt in any condition to continue - it was a home decision to let him carry on.
i was massively wanting froch to win the fight but i couldnt help but feel massively bad for taylor when he was sprawled on the floor - he looked like he was about to cry!

that was quite pathetic, and the commentator clearly showed no sympathy for the guy who got KTFO. I still think they should rematch but now immediately. Taylot needs a few more impressive wins to get back into to position to challenge for the title.
