Taylor was ready to go in the 11th. Body shots had him hurt.

Taylor started throwing aggressive combos to the body and then Kelly responded with body shots.

Taylor was clearly hurt from punches to the head and body in the 11th.

Hard fight to score because Kelly never landed many right hand bombs that many were expecting and he was very stiff in there. I thought Taylor was more improved than Pavlik over the first fight but unlike the first fight Pavlik seriously hurt Taylor with body shots.

Pavlik clearly won but it was still hard to score. I don't think Jack Lowe is a very good trainer and Kelly still makes weird mistakes on offense and defense.

If they fight again I wouldn't be surprised if Pavlik KOs him with body shots. When they look at the tape they will have found a vulnerablity in Taylor.

Pavlik should have gone to the body earlier in the fight

I think Pavlik looked very average in this fight and one dimensional. He repeated the same thing and the new things he added from the second fight, such as go to the body, he didn't do it effectively. This fight proved he still needs work. Jermain lost because of the last two rounds ran out of gas.

He always looks average and one dimensional until he scrambles your brains and wins.

This time Jermain covered up and had good head movement but in the 11th Pavlik tore into his guts and almost took him out.

Again Jermain got tired in part because Kelly was beating on him. It wasn't like Taylor got tired jogging in the park.

Good post Basillio. Taylor won a bronze in the olympics. He was undefeated until pav beat him the first time. JT became the undisputed champ by beating Bhop and then beat him again in the remtach, but somehow Pavlik is very average when he beats Taylor by KO and then by UD. WTF. It goes to show ya that being a boxing fan does not guarantee that a person on esb knows anything about boxing!

agreed the fight was up for grabs at the end of the 10th. pavlik's work to the body in the latter rounds was good but long overdue.

it seemed like from the second JTs back touched the ropes in the 11th he was physically drained, maybe it got brought back memories from last time. pavlik then surged and took the fight over.

2nd or 1st? I know Taylor was shooken up in the 1st by a Kelly right, which got Taylor on the defense. I was hoping Kelly would go to the body much much earlier in that fight, but his corner just didn't recognize the opening (or too worried about a counter). I think it was after the 10th that Loew told Kelly to go to the body. It was just as Loew said, everytime Kelly went to the body Jermain would hold on. There was no way for him to take the last 2 rounds if he was going to have to hold on for most of the round....but to Taylor's credit, he went to the body as well, more than Pavlik did up to the 11th.

Taylor should have kept circling left and throwing jabs often. He was successful when doing that. When he landed big shots on Kelly, he didn't follow through. I guess he was afraid he would waste energy like the first one. Taylor should have worked Pavlik's body through the fight. This is one of Pavlik's weakness, but Taylor didn't take advantage of it :patsch

I had it 117-111 for Pavlik, was not even close, if Pavlik had stepped it up he could have stopped Taylor, great body shot also!!!
