I assume you are refering to opponents like Shannon Taylor who got knocked out by Raymond Joval, Kofi Jantuah who got knocked out by Kassim Ouma, or Sebastian Demers whose previous 5 opponents had 29 losses. Let's not ignore the fact that Arthur Abraham has never been in the ring with an opponent of Jermain's caliber. His best win to date was Edison Miranda, and Miranda remains his toughest opponent to date. If Arthur had Jermain's resume' he would have at least 5 losses, maybe 6 since I'm not sure AA would ever be able to catch up to squirelly ass little corey Spniks. The big question is all about whether or not JT is ruined. If he's not, he should win a clear UD over Abraham.
Let's hope the fighters decide not to care about the ****ing alphabet belts, figuring whoever wins the tournament will have worldwide recognition as the undeniable #1 at 168!
So what you're saying is that if Taylor wins, he's better than AA. And if he loses, then JT was 'ruined ?' Looks like a lose-lose situation for Arthur. Or are you just biased ? (You don't have to answer.)
The correct answer is that both Jermain and Kelly are better boxers than Abraham. (Very slightly better in Kelly's case). But both would lose to him. At least Jermain is willing to put it to the test.
True, but the winner of the tournament will have one very beefy resume, and Bute and andrade's resume's will have fallen far behind by then cuz there won't be top fighters available to them to strengthen theirs with.
Actually in another thread on this subject I pointed out that there is a bit of a contradiction with this fight. If Jermain wins, he's back in the game big time, because the myth that has grown up around AA far exceeds his real in-ring accomplishments. If Arthur wins, all he did was beat a guy who lost 3 of his last 4 fights. It is a lose/lose situation for Arthur. It would have been much better for AA to start with a Froch fight. the myth that has grown up around Froch also far exceeds his in-ring accomplishments. He is ranked as the #1 or #2 SMW in the world. Arthur would knock his slow, clusmy ass out, and be on top of the world.
yeah if taylor doesn't fade into absoloutely nothing in the later rounds, then you got yourself a valid statement
