His first fight was at light-heavy.

He still maintains Jones is the only guy to beat him comfortably.

A slight nod to Taylor because Hopkins was younger and hadn't lost in 12 years but Hopkins was also not fighting at his ideal weight. Hopkins said he could've fought at LHW years ago.

The Hopkins that Calzaghe fought was coming off of two great victories over Tarver and Winky and was fighting at his ideal weight. Also, i actually think Calzaghe outpointed Hopkins more convincingly than JT did in either. You could make a STRONG case that Hopkins won one or both JT fights but it's harder to do for the Calzaghe fight as Hopkins really was desparate to keep pace. You didn't get that sense in either JT fights. Hopkins just seemed content with being inactive in the JT fights whereas Calzaghe pushed Hopkins to his physical limits.

Most definitely Taylor. Regardless, all three fights here were very close, though I had Bernard beating Calzaghe for sure.

taylor's wins were better because he defeated hopkins before he was in decline and was big enough to back himself.ยจ

joe's decision to fight hopkins rather than a potential fight with pavlik is a perfect example of the opposite way taylor and calzaghe have run their careers.

calzaghe deserves all the credit in the world for skill, but not as much for his career path.

Calzaghe's. Taylor never even remotely dictated against Hopkins.

Two wins? He went 0-1-1 in my book.

you're still talking about a talented young fighter who was big enough to take on hopkins while he was on top against a possibly more talented fighter (joe) who waited until hopkins was a faded fighter to take him on.

i can't give credit for that.

Jermain Taylor...even though those 2 wins could have gone either way,but as for Calzaghe,he def lost to Bernard dat night,B-hop ended Joes undefeated streak and beat him in my eyes....Joe Calzaghe is a fraud!!!

    he's not a fraud.

he just chose to rack up cash rather than find out how good he really was. it's his choice in the end but he did cheapen himself by trying to build himself up as a 'great fighter' when he consciously never chose to pursue that.

Calzaghe actually beat him clearly on my scorecard and Taylor didn't, so this was fairly simple.

im gonna go with calzaghe's only because he seemed to control hops more. I dunno, the knockout showed me taylor can take a better punch than joe, but that doesnt equal taylor>joe. And I am a big taylor fan too btw.

    Here's how I scored them.

First Taylor fight, 115-113, for Taylor
(I gave Hopkins the fifth round and the final four)

Second Taylor fight, 116-112 for Hopkins
(I had them split over the first 6 and gave Hopkins 5 of the final six, with Taylor winning the 11th)

Calzaghe I scored 114-113 for Hopkins
(I gave Hopkins rounds 1-4, round 7, and round 10)
