I think that Taylor should take the IBF and WBA title. Then, Taylor and Pavlik should pad their records with Eric Crumbles' cousins for 10 years. After that, US fans, in one giant circle jerk, can talk about how USA has the two best fighters in the world. One day, at the end of their careers, they can spend half a decade negotiating a fight and everyone can claim that it's the most important fight ever.

    :huh

What if Pavlik doesn't want to move up in weight? Does he have to anyway to fight Taylor?

Taylor is Hungry, he can beat Pavlik but should wait. Taylor should get adjusted and campaign in 168 for awhile after he accomplishes something then call out Pavlik. This could very well end up in a great trilogy all the great fighters have em.

Agreed. Then again, with Jermain's defense Miranda is no pushover.

Great article. And, there is no shame in losing to Pavlik. Ultimately a loss to Kelly on one's record will mean little except that a guy was good enough to be in the ring with him. I was one of the first guys on this board to jump on the Pavlik band wagon. I said repeatedly that he would knock Taylor out. Actually I thought Taylor would make it 10 or 11 rounds. However, he only lasted about 2 minutes longer than Bronco McKart, and 2 rounds less than Zuniga! I'm not dissing JT. I'm just saying that Pavlik knocks people the **** out, and there isn't much that the current crop of middleweights can do about it. If the rematch does happen, Kelly will not lose his zero to Jermain. When somebody beats pavlik it will be a very slick and smart boxer with fast hands, great lateral movement, and enough power to make Pavlik respect him. If there is a rematch between Pavlik and JT. Pavlik will not get hurt. He won't pull any more dumb ass stunts like dropping his hands and sticking his chin out in response to a blatant elbow! And THAT is THE ONLY reason he got into such serious trouble in that 2nd round. Jack Leow was PISSED at Kelly about the bs in round 2! Taylor won't be the only one who studies the tape, and works to correct mistakes. In the rematch Taylor goes down in 4-6 rounds.

    Thanks for the link.

I for one would LOVE to see them get it on again. Pavlik - Taylor (tho lost me an avatar bet  ), was a great fight to watch....no reason a second wouldnt be just as good.
