He use to have a seriously bad speech impediment. He's had it since he was a kid. He also got bullied for it. I think as the years progressed he started getting councilling cause it was so bad. I heard in his early career it affected his breathing. Something to do with Nervousness. Which does make sense as when your nervous you tense up and exert more energy...thus effecting your stamina. If its bad lately its probably due to nerves which is understandable after all those losses his confidence must be quite low
pea was always a terrible speaker though, he sounded awful in that hbo interview before the julio cesar vasquez fight, and also before the 2nd fight with buddy mcgirt i think the theory that he talks that way because of serious drug abuse is a complete myth... because i have been around serious abusers of drugs including narcotics and cocaine, and obviously it affects people's lives in negative ways, but speech has never been one of them
jermain just always seems like a real likeable guy....a friend of mine works at a steakhouse at foxwoods...jermain ate there and did a presser there before the froch fight....this friend is a real casual boxing fan...but he was real excited to tell me about it and said what a "cool" guy he was....jermain has some endearing qualities....i hope he does well in the super 6
I've always thought that part of PBF's defensive style is due to seeing how his father & uncle turned out. I bet he still remembers when they could talk clearly.
He's always talked like that...He comes to Memphis a lot and I've seen him on Beale St. (around the time of the Wright\Taylor fight) He always seemed to rush his words like that...None the less though...Taylor is a good guy to chat with...He was very cool!:good

Jermain has taken some serious punishment over his career. If he gets wrecked by Abraham, I don't want to see him fight a whole lot longer.
