According to a place that has a scene in boxing --

TBE wants to defend the WBC/WBA title at the same time on Sept 13th

The last two fighter to do this was Sugar Ray Leonard and Henry Armstrong:

According to Mauricio Sulaiman, he's heard rumblings that Mayweather wants to defend both his WW and JMW titles in his next fight. This of course would be totally against the rules and a gimmick, as the fight would have to take place at 147 or below. However, they're already allowing Mayweather to skate the rules by letting him hold titles in two different divisions in the first place. Sugar Ray Leonard also pulled this stunt before, so who knows what the WBC will do if Mayweather puts in an official request.

Legacy is important to TBE, congrats to taking the initiative.

Yeah, Garcia is a legitimate light middleweight. TBDE using this gimmick to try and boost his plummeting numbers.

Wait a minute, when Henry Armstrong and Sugar Ray Leonard did this, they never received heat...nothing but praise. But when TBE does it, he receives HATE.

He will never get credit from his haters no matter what, he can cure cancer and his hater will still find a way to HATE.

Umm.... having a 154 title and paying the sanction fee to put it on the line at 147 is legacy? WBC just wants double fees. Even more laughable when he fights a 140 pound guy like Garcia who was already exposed as weak to boxers.

Its not hate to point out that Floyd's team is playing the optics and marketing but there is very little real substance here.

This is the type of farce that makes people who dont have a different TMT hat for each day of the week wonder wtf is wrong with the sport and if there is any way to fix it.

Why wouldn't he have done this for the Maidana fight...?

I thought about it at the time that he could/should have been able to defend both.
