    Tanaka is advancing with double jabs. The champion is taking sliding back-steps while countering with his own single jab from a high shell. Tanaka wakes up the crowd and commentators with a flashy upper-hook doubled and tripled up, slashing diagonally from about hip level to Ioka's throat, but only grazing. No serious power contact yet by either man halfway into the opener. Tanaka pressuring, darting in with speedy body combos lobbed straight and dart-like in pairs.     What a great, great fight this is. I think Tanaka is overextending on offence a bit in the second tactically rather than technically. He doesn't need florid four punch combos he is controlling the space and that jab is ouch. Calm down dear. Ioka's right hand at 35 seconds remaining is strategically relevant.

    The champion rallies now, establishing his base and comfort zone in the middle of the ring but letting himself drift out ring-ward just enough to lure Tanaka into countering range for pinpoint jabs, hooks and rights thrown in rapid succession in twos and threes, up on the ball of either foot with explosive abruptness. Ioka scoring VERY well on the jaw with the lead right hand as Tanaka continually darts in with both arms in flux seeking to initiate all exchanges with his own combos.

    What a great third from Tanaka, great left-handed performance, he's in control for this round, more compact, feels more economical until the final 40 seconds where he lands a chopping right. Ioka feels the cold wind here but finishes the round coming forwards carefully. That's his future if he's serious about winning.
