Ioka is the third biggest name in Japanese boxing
    He's BIIIIG
Tanaka is more...local star in Nagoya with a growing national profile (his fight was only shown in 2 regions of Japan today)...he's no star, but CBC have done really well (working with Asianboxing, ESPN Knockout ETC) in increasing his international awareness really well

You didn't think Cintron deserve the second? I thought it was a clear round for him. 3rd he did the cleaner work as well.

Definitely a close round, but i thought Ioka edged it with some great counters. I think first three rounds are definitely close rounds. Ioka took over from R4,5 with the insane amount of body shots. But i don't think Cintron won first 3 (maybe 2-1 Cintron, maybe 2-1 Ioka but i wouldn't agree with 3-0 either way). I think range of scores should be 115-113 to 117-111. I do not think Cintron did enough to avoid a loss here.

I'm no fan of Cintron, I actually prefer Ioka by a mile. I've been a fanboy of his for quite some time. And yeah, I picked Cintron for the upset, but I scored it fairly. Ioka absolutely dominated the 4th to the 6th and 8, 9 and 10. But I genuinely thought Cintron did good enough to get a draw. But in no way am I arguing that he won. Either Ioka by a point or draw.

Sadly, this was the last remotely notable boxing card for the next ELEVEN days. :ohno

Between now and the January 10th show (headlined by Claressa goddamn ratings-poison Shields on Showtime) there are several days with zero professional boxing scheduled around the globe, and only two cards that will be televised anywhere (both really crappy bills full of mismatches, both on TyC Sports in Argentina)

This is always the slowest time of year but I can't remember the last time we had to wait until ten days in for the first North American (or European, or Asian) televised card, only to have it suck. Hopefully not an ill oment for what's to come in 2020.

I'm willing to concede a draw being reasonable (as rounds 3 & 11 - and yeah I guess 12, since both were tired and ineffective relative to earlier in the fight, although of the smattering both landed I preferred Kazuto's body shots to Jeyvier's light daubing-brush jabs and willy-nilly lead superman lefts - were close) ...but on the flip side of that coin, that draw is three swing rounds (that you've gotta say can be swung reasonably enough Ioka's way) away from making it 117-111. :deal:

Yeah, I won't argue that, although that is being quite harsh to poor Cintron. For such a huge step up in class he performed admirably, quite frankly better than I thought. I was expecting Ioka to KO him after the 4th, and the fact that he came back to win the 7th and arguably the last two, that was damn impressive.

I like Cintron, and felt he was unfairly maligned after he was heatbutted (and it was a clear headbutt) into oblivious by Eto the first time they fought. He recovered well the second time and showed real skill. I figured he'd perform well against Ioka, regardless of the outcome, and I'm glad that came to pass.

I haven't watched yet but looks like last fight of the year was pretty close,I picked Cintron for obv. reasons trying to win the league but thought he would be up against it over there getting a decision over Ioka if fight was close.

Ioka was comfortably ahead on my card watching it live.. I think I had it 8-3 heading to the 12 and I actually gave the 12 to Cintron making it 8-4..
Knowing it’s in Japan doesn’t help, it actually making me nervous waiting for the decision.
To quote Kellerman, Ioka was definitely winning the story of the fight landing telling body blows and made Cintron very uncomfortable and initiated a lot of holdings.
Having said that Cintron did have a considerably amount of reach over Ioka and did landed a lot of head shots on Ioka when he’s closing in..
    I guess that’s how @CST80 saw it a draw..
