Nice body work by Ioka, but looked like he was a bit stunned by a flurry from Fukunaga around the two minute mark. Close round, but that flurry took it for me.

    Round 2

Fukunaga is staying busy with the right jab, and punishing any perceived moment's hesitation or defensive relaxation on Ioka's part with a 1-2 if not a three-piece. Ioka getting some left jabs in standing his ground, but Fukunaga just swarming him with activity. Ioka ducking, sidestepping and using head movement but still getting hit with plenty just by dint of how much Fukunaga is throwing. Ioka with some counter right hands on the chin here and there, giving Fukunaga slight pause, but too few of them.

    10-9 Fukunaga

    20-18 Fukunaga

    Round 3

Fukunaga is belting Ioka with the left now from medium-long range. Ioka forming an X guard over his throat and lower mandible and hiking up his shoulders to lean to either side and dodge what he can, but Fukunaga persisting with powerful accurate shots all set up with the free-flowing right jab fuzzing up Ioka's field of vision. Ioka hopping from lead foot to rear, very halting and hesitant, shifting his weight and overthinking his next move until Fukunaga has beaten him to the punch and forced him to abandon his position. Ioka defending well yet barely getting shots off, waiting too long to pull trigger on counters.

    10-9 Fukunaga

    30-27 Fukunaga

    Round 4

Fukunaga is keeping the pressure on behind the high right jab, then rolling fist over fist in front of his chest to keep Ioka guessing before his next strike. Ioka begins to finally snap out of his funk and rip some hard power shots strung together fluidly, catching and surprising Fukunaga with some lead rights and left hooks. Ioka now standing off, lowering his gloves to his sides, baiting Fukunaga in and daring him to give him countering opportunities. Fukunaga does creep in, cautiously, and Ioka nails him with some rights while staying off the center-line to slip Fukunaga's lefts.

    10-9 Ioka

    39-37 Fukunaga

    Oof...poor Ryoji. :ohno

This is a WBO contest, so we aren't going to get the open scoring that WBC does.
