I only saw four rounds and on the basis of just those, I already disagree with two of those scorecards

Ah, so not hinting at retirement? He sounded a bit emotional, could have just been fatigued.

Ioka says he's not happy with performance. Said he injured his foot kicking a wolf in the face three weeks before the fight and he was unable to spar for the rest of the camp. Said he found it really difficult making weight too and that he's moving up to 175 and wants Beterbiev in the Shimazu Arena, Kyotoin sometime early next Spring

...and there are NPC monsters popping up from behind store counters to do random jump scares?

Dudes in oni (Japanese mythology ogres) masks, wearing Sith robes and wielding red lightsabers. This is bananas.

That I don't know. They went to the next programming pretty quick out here, so I'm guessing retirement talk would have warranted further discussion. Sorry no one around me was payig attention to what he was saying.

Anyone on here know what he said?

Edit: Serge has it covered above

It will be a miracle if Ioka still somehow has the WBO title (let alone any others) as of next NYE. My gut says he's getting beaten sometime in 2022, be it by Ancajas, the Wangek vs. Cuadras II winner, or the Gallo vs. Chocolatito III winner. :ohno

The version we saw today and in September versus Chihuas loses to all of them.

That might even merit an edit to my Robbery Of The Year thread. I thought it was safe to make one a week out, but they just had to sneak one more in.

Still perhaps Ioka was just unmotivated for this fight. Ioka for years has been hunting big fights and just when he had one set with Ancajas it was taken away from him.

I do wanna see Ioka get his big fight and regardless of the result to ride into the sunset. :chuck:

Can't be worse than Cuarto vs. Taduran I, surely?

I mean...115-113 is a card I disagree with, but wouldn't consider someone a bad scorer for getting there. It had enough close rounds that you could. 116-112 is... wrong, but not egregiously beyond the pale. It was really just the 118-110 that was...Jesus ****ing Christ. That is the kind of card where you wonder exactly wtf the judge had going on in their mind, like "how did they believe they could turn something like that in and feel they'd done a professional job? How did they expect to not be immediately evaluated by the athletic commission doctor for signs of aneurysm?"

No, not even close, that was petrifyingly corrupt. I had that around fourth place. This one would probably slot in around 10-15.
