He co-promoted this event and is the reason U.S. audiences were able to watch it.

Pop quiz: anybody know who Ioka's boxing idol was (both when he was growing up watching the sport, and later modeled his style after) ..?

    Hint: they're not Japanese.

Man super sorry about that! I realized afterwards and felt pretty crappy after that and realized it was too late to delete! :( I’ll definitely be careful for next time and thanks for the heads up. No hard feelings and thanks again for letting me know!

    Sorry everyone!!:scared1

Yeah...wow, impressed you knew that, actually. No offense, I just don't really consider you a lighter weights or Asian boxing specialist, aside from being obsessed with Pacquiao. Do you just happen to also be a major Ioka fan-boy? Or (even more impressively) did you just recognize the imprint on his style?

Not bad, but not great, it was similar to Ioka-Palicte sans the 10th round, a tactical battle, with neither man ever really going all out, only a southpaw-orthodox version. Kind of a frustrating watch for me, and frustrating opponent for Hiroto.

    Google.

    :dancer2:

I do enjoy the lower weight classes as I prefer faster (speed) paced action. Above 160, the fighters are just much slower, which is why my interest above Light Heavy drops considerably. Some of my favorite fighters are at the lower weights—Brian Viloria, Juan Francisco Estrada, Chocolatio, Donaire (been to 3 of his fights), Inoue (obviously), Yaegashi, etc.. Honestly, I do see a little of the ODLH imprint, but ODLH doesn't immediately spring to mind. I do liken Ioka's fluidity and punch selection to a Nietes/Estrada hybrid. Beautiful boxers with beautiful movements.
