Nietes 2 makes a hell of a lot of sense on a couple levels

I remember thinking he should have lost to Yaegashi, but then got screwed over by Nietes and Ruenroeng.

I like Palicte so there is a tinge of bittersweetness about this, but damn, I'm stoked to see Ioka get the W

Ugh, was hoping for some more post-fight content on TBS - analysis (even though I don't speak Japanese and wouldn't understand it), ceremony, interviews...but they must have signed off while I was viewing the wind-down on Fight Pass. They've moved on to some weird show with people doing pranks on what appears to be a transgender geisha. :dunno

Uh yes. He probably already was. If he beats Nietes he is bucking for top 15 sub-bantam all-time.

Huge announcement. Roy just announced his comeback and opponent in Kyotaro Fujimoto. For the vacant WBC Russo-Japanese rainbow HW title of the world!

Actually it would clinch that for him, upon review he is already on the bubble for top 15.

In no particular order (because I don't feel like parsing them out right now :sisi1) these are his obstacles:

    Finito López
    Rosendo Álvarez
    Ivan Calderón
    Jorge Arce
    Jung Koo Chang
    Myung Woo Yuh
    Michael Carbajal
    Little Dado
    Jimmy Wilde
    Santos Laciar
    Chocolatito González
    Johnny Tapia
    Sung Kil Moon
    Khaosai Galaxy
    Gerry Peñalosa

...and that's still leaving plenty of greats on the table, but IMO he has clearly surpassed all but the above.
