On the Álvarez vs. Kovalev II undercard this Saturday on ESPN. NABF lightweight title at stake, first defense of López. Is the leap up in class going to prove too abruptly steep for the budding star (particularly having never faced a southpaw in the pros) or will the Argentinian-Italian-American veteran of a dozen years be taken out to pasture by the Honduran-American phenom?
Fimo looks to be something special (if only just a devastating puncher). And Magdaleno lost to Roman Martinez whom I don't rate highly at all.
Lopez smash! But it's quite the leap in opposition. I am excited to see Diego push Lopez and show what hes really made out of.
I expect Diego to give him a tough fight maybe last the distance but dropped a few times Teos toughest fight
lopez reminds me of spence, in that they are stronger ounce for ounce than other guys so they dare you to outlast them and the pressure they bring. lopez appears to have more raw power than spence, but hes fully committing to his punches vs lower level opposition. i will be looking closely at him in this fight, see how he handles the step up. i do enjoy watching him work.
How I understand it, the card will start on ESPN, but the Kovalev vs. Alvarez and the Lopez fights (as long as the Commey and Valdez fights, most probably) will be on ESPN+ only.
