    You don't know the basics fully yourself so how are you going to teach him?

    Sure 7 months isn't long and there is no way the TS could be teaching him the ins and outs of the game...

    but surely in that time he would have learnt at least a a bit about how to throw a straight punch and stance.

    I see no harm in showing his brother a few things as long as you dont get ahead of youself and start thinking you have it all and are ready to compete etc etc...

    lets be realistic surely after 7 months he could tell the difference between someone throwing a wild wide right hand to someone throwin a a straight right and could provide a bit of direction on how to do things better...

    the main point and key to it all would be not to get carried away with it all and start believing he is something he's not.

    You understand he is talking about sparring with his brother? Every watch what happens when you throw two novices in together?

    Not to sound like I approve of this hare-brained "gonna teach my brother in my basement" crap, but you don't know this kid from Adam... he could well be the next Hagger - that's why he's so confident. In his 28 hours of boxing (20-30 mins a session, twice a week, for seven months) he could be a natural knocking the spots off the rest of the gym.

    That said, I agree with most other people in the thread - take the brother to the gym, and have him learn there. If you try it yourself: You WILL **** up... He WILL get hurt... You WILL be grounded for a week and get your allowance taken off you (possibly even no TV/dessert depending on how strict mommy is)

    yep ok i see the holes in my post.

    let me adjust....

    key is to not get carried away and think he is ready to be training someone for competition or unsupervised sparring.... its defo not the way to learn and without the direction of a proper coach they'll probly end up planting a jab or 2 on each other loosing focus and forgetting boxing for just slugging it out..... as for the rest though i see no drama with sharing whateva he has learnt. so long as they are both realistic about the quality of the "training"
