He's not really stopped over paying him though is he when he's paying double what Parker was offered, that's still over paying just in a different format. Does this fight realistically do double what Joshua/Parker did, probably not and even if it does he's paying Wilder double so he's still over paying. Hearn is pretending to play hard ball while at the same time throwing huge money at the fight.
Hearn says in this vid he doesn't think deals should be conducted in public. I'm not disputing that might be due to no offer being made, I don't know. My point is, in a short interview Hearn has contracted himself numerous times. Moved the goalpost when it suited. He's being really shifty all of a sudden when in the past he's presented this 'call a spade, a spade' image. Why the change in tactic?
Cant see how thats a duck??? Hearn seemed very open about what was asked IMO Think people try and twist what was said
If boxing was like tennis Wilder would likely have faced a decent name and certainly wouldn't have made the final.
I think from what he said, was due to the sheer amount of how much more it would be. Also he mentioned how he had to overpay to get in a position of power. He is now in that position Cant see what is wrong with anything Hearn said there in that video
well tbf, AJ said he'd take the 60/40, just make him a counter offer....has that email been lost in the cloud? I'm sure we'll know more when Hearn & Finkel meet in NY
He wasn't in a position of power after the Wlad win? I'm not too sure. AJ was already by far the biggest draw in the division then. He also went on to say that AJ can generate mega-bucks earnings without taking this fight, which is of course true. It also means he is contemplating a career for Joshua without ever fighting Wilder. Some people would label that a duck, but I don't like that word. Let's just call it economic prudence...
Lmao the lengths you are having to go to to put a positive spin on this is mind boggling or should I say mind bubblin. Yeah Hearn said he doesn't like deals being done in the public he showed that with the Parker negotiations and we saw that here as he didn't leak the details of the offer he made to the media that was Wilder's side. It was Wilder's side that made this negotiation public, though it's not really a negotiation is it, a negotiations is between 2 parties and it's only Hearn here doing anything to make the fight. No counter offer has been made despite them saying it would happen after 48 hours yet Hearn is the shifty one? Who here is failing to meet agreed deadlines even the one self imposed? Hearn didn't force them to reply in 48 hours he gave them 10 days, yet here we are after 10 days and nothing, but Hearn to you is the one hiding something, lol. Fact is no counter offer has been made, in fact not approach for a deal at all from Wilder's side has been forth coming. And we know this to be true because they have shown they are happy to leak everything to the media like when they leaked Hearn's initial offer. If they had made a counter offer they would of made it public just like when they made it public they were going to make a counter offer.
I think it is a duck also but I am also very happy Povetkin is going to be the opponent. Every bit as good as Wilder.
Let's just hope they agree to meet with Hearn. The clock is ticking, a deal must me agreed soon as Joshua must agree terms with Povetkin in 16 days or have a unification option with Wilder to trump his mandatory obligation.
Agreed I think it's just as dangerous a fight for Joshua. Povetkin might be past prime but he's proven, durable, hits hard and will likely give us a more entertaining fight as neither like to back down.
i just hope sanity will prevail, but I'm losing hope daily. They both want it imo, wish the promoters and managers would sort their **** out and get it on
