If Martinez beat Canelo he might get the Floyd fight he wants, it would at least get him a Cotto fight.

 

Canelos team wants the best its money hungry DLH slowing em' down, Can't blame him but I as a fan think canelo is ready for Cotto/Trout Lara/Vanes/ and then move on to the Mayweathers and Martinez's

Are you f'ing kidding me???? I don't think the kid is ready for this kinda of a step up.....I would expect him to take on Cotto first.

I think the idea here is that it is time to move Canelo into the supper star PPV attraction category. Canelo is an emerging star, which mean if you want to put on a profitable PPV he'll need a well known dancer partner. And when you look around at his wt divison there are only four (or 5 if you count Jnr) guys that fit that bill. Two of them (mayweather and Pac) are both way smaller and have many less risky options. So making a fight with either or them is less likely. That really only leaves Cotto and Martinez as guys they could draw over 600K buys with. Cotto is the obvious choice. My guess is the cotto fight is still their top choice but making comments like this at least makes it seem like they are keeping their options open.

If I were team Canelo however I would be careful what I wish for. Cotto could easily lose to trout and then they'd be stuck taking a fight with a bigger, stronger, faster, more mobile and experienced champion.

I doubt this fight ever gets made. I'd pick martinez by UD if it ever got made.

I'd love to see that fight...but i seriously doubt GBP will take that kind of risk.Canelo isnt used to fight people his size,what make you think he'll fight someone bigger?
its just talking...besides he has some unfinished business with Maidana,Khan and Danny Garcia.
