Not suprised Canelo wants this fight. Pretty sure he would love to beat the guy who gave his rival his 1st loss.

You know Canelo and Chavez has that anything you can do I can do better attitude with one another. Huge step up for Canelo.

Let Floyd attend the fight and call out the winner, make it happen.

Canelo wants big fights "its just talking"

Rigo wants big fights " not just talk he serious" but gets his chin exposed by bums :patsch then fans have the nerve to put him in the same light as Moreno Mares and Donaire

Super bantamweight if ****ing stacked, yet he fighting bums and getting exposed :think

Rhodes was bigger then him and had even fought at 160, cintron, mosely, gomez had all fought at 154 before so your hating is moot. People forget canelo started at ****ing JR WW and was at WW 1-2 years ago, Lopez earned his right, I doubt it happens again, They gonna put him up against the best next time is of essence

Is Team Canelo talking about Sergio Martinez, the Middle Weight Champion or another Sergio Martinez from the JrWW division we have never heard about? Surely, you guys can't expect Canelo to fight MW's when he himself has been fighting at JrWW his entire career, that will be insane!

    Great fight make it!

Certainly will land Martinez a Cotto or Maywarther fight if he wins too.

This is one of the best fights out there to be made. Awesome news.

would love to see this fight and admire canelo's willingness to fight the best BUT gbp won't let it happen. Cotto vs Canelo will make more money.

This is how ATG fighters are born...Canelo is on the right track if this fight is made. Nobody is giving Canelo any chance but I bet if he wins all these haters are going to discredit him...watch.

Look who's Canelo fought by age 21, they are not holding him back. He's never cut no corners, had his fair share of quality experiences (and difficulties) vs. Miguel Vazquez, Euri Goznalez or Larry Mosley before 18 and put some solid names on his record since with GBP exploring a Floyd fight back in 2011 - they are going for global stardom and willing to take risks (such as the Williams and Kirkland fights before they fall apart).

Martinez makes business sense, big time. He's a draw now, a household name but someone who's also willing to take the smaller PPV cut, and for a fight that could easily generate a million buys in May, it means more cash for Canelo than the smaller cut from a 2 million Floyd PPV. Whoever started the Alverez is protected talk needs to be slapped, he built up his own hype turning pro at 15 and fighting through his teen years without serious hand picking. Martinez at some catchweight fits in his profile, and what if he loses, he's still a big star in the Latino market and there's plenty of time to get better, he's no record protector.

I'm telling you folks right now - Canelo beats Martinez. Martinez will be too old by the time the fight can be made (Martinez's torn ligaments) - October or November of 2013. Alvarez is strong and has a ton of heart. Alvarez can box much better than Chavez too. Obviously Martinez is a superior boxer, but he's not significantly better to the point where he can neutralize Alvarez's superior strength/conditioning. Alvarez might even stop Sexy
