    no it wont:good

but yeah what youre saying is true, it also applies in the reverse. Haye landed his best shots (and some illegal ones) on a ancient John Ruiz and couldnt stop him without a towel but hes going to smash chisora into oblivion?

How many fighters have done that to any version of Ruiz?

I certainly don't think Haye will obliterate Chisora in a round - he's not got the cool mind to allow him to be a great finisher. But he can certainly lay a spiteful, sustained beating on that vile *****.

I've got a feeling that this will be a fiasco of Harrison proportions. Chisora coming in overweight, attempting to do his Frazier bob and weave routine (the one where he forgets to weave) and being caught at will when he comes on to Haye in straight lines, the Hayemaker will have a field day.

Ruiz, at any stage of his career, is several levels above Chisora in every single department.

    Ok, let's do this!

I'd also like the following put somewhere: David "Come Witness the Slickness" Haye..

6 years prior to that while Ruiz was winding down his career Toney and Golota both had him down several times. His next 6 fights after that saw the shot version of Ruiz face Valuev twice, Chagaev, McCline plus journey men Tisdale and Serin. The only big puncher you could see from that list is McCline who was at the end of his career himself. It wasn't as if he was facing the big hitters of the division.

    jesus christ:lol:

    you mad bro?

youre right, but sustained? He'l beat the **** outa him but Haye only fights for spurts in rounds. I see a mercy stoppage about 10, after a succession of innaccurate clubbing blows to the side of dels nut

Stopped twice. Ever. Once by Tua, then not again until Haye. In between he faced some good punchers, including Tony Tucker, Rahman, and Holyfield (not a banger, but a brutal combination finisher).

Toney knocked Ruiz down once, catching him off-balance IIRC, and Toney was on the juice. Golota was a brutal puncher, couldn't stop Ruiz and lost.

No one's saying Haye is a pure bomber like Wlad can be, but he is clearly pretty decent to so comprehensively beat Ruiz, even at that stage.

The Ruiz of that fight would beat the Chisora of now.

Sustained just means beating him up every round. The Ruiz fight is a pretty good model for this one, except Dereck doesn't have Ruiz's jab.

    From "sport.ru"...

After signing a contract to fight Chisora on Tuesday, Haye has now vowed to have his bitter rival for breakfast after he interrupted his meal.

He said: “Everywhere I have gone to, restaurants, bars or clubs, they always say ‘Dereck Chisora was in here looking for you’.

“I knew I was going to bump into him sooner rather than later, although I know he gets knocked back from most of the clubs anyway.

“He gets bounced off every nightclub in central London.

“So finally I went out to a restaurant in Berkeley Square and he must have been tipped off because he came running in there. I was trying to enjoy a nice meal.

“He sits down opposite me at my table and says ‘I want to fight you, I want to do this and do that’.

“I was like, ‘Well, we’re talking to Frank ****** anyway. I was with one friend. I thought it’s going to kick off. I expected to start having a fight but it didn’t.

"I was calm, but that was because I knew I could take him down. I’ve done it already once before.

“No doubt about it, I’m going to have him for breakfast, lunch, dinner – and dessert as well.”

Haye has enjoyed mercilessly taunting previous opponents such as Nicolai Valuev, Audley Harrison and Wladimir Klitschko.

But Haye took his trash talk to a new level by calling Chisora a moron, loser and lunatic. He said: “He’s a moron, he’s got delusions of grandeur.

“He believes losing three title fights on the spin gives him something – he’s a loser on every level. He’s consistently a loser.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with the guy, he talks the most random crap.

“First he was saying I’d got no style, then he was asking where I got my suit from and what I was doing on Sunday? What comes into this guy’s mind? He’s got a screw loose.

“Whenever he’s in close proximity to another man he either says something stupid, kisses them, slaps them, spits on them, bites them. What kind of madness is that?

“People ask why there was a fence between us at the press conference? It’s because the guy’s a lunatic.”

Chisora opted to ridicule Haye’s dress sense and stamina.

“He had one of his Spice Boys with him at the restaurant,” he said. “I told him in 20 minutes he should leave because I had my boys coming and my boys don’t like him. My boys came, we went downstairs, and he left.

“His style is whack. You can tell it’s David Haye, he’s wearing a bandana, his cane rows, tight T-shirt, white jeans – this guy hasn’t got style.

Chisora spoke primarily about the fight and what he plans to do come fight night.

“If I lose this I will go down the drain,” he said. “We know he’s not fit and doesn’t run. He was puffing out against John Ruiz. You tag him on the chin and he’s going to sit down. I can knock the sucker out. He’ll be breathing out of his arse by round four.”

    Also, from ESB...

“I’ll take on Dereck and see what the landscape is,” Haye told Gareth A Davies of The Telegraph. “Yes, I’d like to meet Vitali after that. All I’m going to do now is focus on this idiot and get him out of there.”

“I don’t know that’s wrong with the guy, he talks the most random crap,” Haye said of his rival. “He’s got a screw loose.”

Team Haye has been updated. If I've forgotten anyone, let me know.

Also, regards to avatar bets, me and Roe have two going, one on the EVT win, and one on the actual outcome of the fight. I suggest that we make it a Team Avatar bet, whereby the losing team has to sport an Avi of the other team's choosing.

I know a few have already agreed to it, so as Mand would say, Let's have it!
